If you want to trace back to where Liverpool have got hold of this game, there was tackle from Andy Robertson in the 20th minute that changed the atmosphere. He's just done it again with a charge down the left. His importance to this team should never be taken for granted 🔴
6am in Liverpool! An hour earlier this fella had been singing and ppl were opening windows telling him to stfu it’s early! An hour in and he is now orchestrating the whole apartment block in a sing song😂😂 @Ad_Lavender@MolloyOliver

@ketilbstensrud Was at the game and think the pitch affected quite a lot. Tricky conditions made the players play to slow and they looked like they where nervous about making mistakes against a deep lying Leicester team with players capable to punish those mistakes on the counter.
🔴 Manchester United set up in an initial 4-3-3 formation, but one key difference under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is their forward thinking as soon as the ball is recovered in central midfield.
Here, Nemanja Matic immediately looks for the direct running of Marcus Rashford. #MUN
@MHChehade What happens if PSG draw against Belgrade? Then we have three teams on 9 points. Liverpool will top the league without Beograd games counting. 6 points vs 5 for both Napoli and PSG. Even though they could loose head to head against both teams, with for example a 2-1 win.
@MelissaReddy_ I think Klopp has made many tactically questionable decisions lately.Yesterday, why do you want play so deep in the first half against Red Star? A team with a big and tall striker but little pace to hurt you. You play right in to their hands and get them and the crowd going.
Jürgen Klopp says #LFC are finding it difficult to rediscover their mojo.
It suggests a more measured approach due to greater defensive solidity isn't by design then.
A look at what could be contributing factors:

@DuncanCastles@kick_in_grass@garbosj@jonnyrmcfarlane At times? When out of possesion both wingers tracked back fast, and their positions would be 10-12 meters wide of their to CM,making it a line of a midfield four. That was Pep’s defensive structure. But no point to discuss more. Call it whatever you want, I just tried to help.
@akalven@kick_in_grass@garbosj@jonnyrmcfarlane Just because wingers play deep and narrow at times in a 4-2-3-1 does not make it a 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1. Are you going to describe Mourinho's 4-2-3-1 systems at Inter, Madrid and Chelsea as 4-4-2 because he asked his wingers to track back in certain games? 🤷🏽♂️
Pep Guardiola gets defensive.
Why Manchester City’s pragmatic 4-2-3-1 and back-to-the-keeper passing could spell doom for Premier and Champions League opponents. #MCFC@garbosj@jonnyrmcfarlaneacast.com/thetransferwin…
@DuncanCastles@kick_in_grass@garbosj@jonnyrmcfarlane As i said 4-4-2/4-4-1-1. If you still think it was a 4-2-3-1, teams play their wingers that deep and narrow in a 4-2-3-1 and you think average positions is the way to describe a formation,we just have to disagree on that matter.Though your point on the approach I agree upon.
@akalven@kick_in_grass@garbosj@jonnyrmcfarlane Thanks for the guidance Ansgar. Having worked with professional coaches and footballers for close to two decades, I'm fairly familiar with the concepts. Watch the match again - David Silva operates in front of Fernandinho/Bernardo and behind Aguero. It was not a 4-4-2.
@DuncanCastles@kick_in_grass@garbosj@jonnyrmcfarlane But then again no team plays 4-4-2 in attack. Then it maybe is 2-3-4-1 or something. The point is when people talk about formation most of the time it is how the team operates without the ball not some average positions.
@DuncanCastles@kick_in_grass@garbosj@jonnyrmcfarlane When fotballing people refer to formation they do it in two phases, with or without the ball. Never average positions. When a team plays for example a 4-4-2 that is how they operate without the ball when the opposition is in control of the ball.
