This was Merito and was easily one of the best meals and best experiences of my life. The flavours and ingredients used here are like nothing I’ve ever had anyone else in the world

Ignorantly gatekeeping your countries food as “not real” because it isn’t street food from the 60’s is what holds cultural cuisine back. Street food can be great and I’m looking forward to having lots of it, but modern cuisine from Peruvian chefs with local ingredients is every single bit as “real” of Peruvian cuisine. Awicha is 100% Peruvian.

@akaNemsko Those aren’t real Peruvian dishes. Go to a real people restaurants, like Pollerías, Menu or Chifas. A must: Pollo a la brasa, chijaukay, lomo saltado, ceviche con leche de tigre, ají de gallina, and is just the tip of the iceberg
