Mehmet hocamın bahsettiği, ünlü bir profesörden ders almak, sizin bahsettiğiniz ise o profesörün doktora öğrencisi olmak.(2/?)

Bir konuda mantıklı argümanı olan herkesin fikrini öğrenmek istiyorum. @mdisec ile sik sik tartistigimiz bir konu var: mentorluk. O mentorlugun cok az insan uzerinde etkisi olan bir sey oldugunu onun yerine o surede x konusu hakkında 10 video cekse daha cok faydası olacağına inanıyor. Ben de her ne kadar videoların faydasını yadsımasam da birebir bir etkinin daha terzi isi gibi ince olacagina inanıyorum.

@moyix Makes sense, this might be a far-fetched idea but using Google Colab or other clouds to do it in chunks can help. And you can also partially filter the data there so less download/processing power on your end. Kinda like map-reduce.

@akapkic Maybe... the download time is a problem too though. I'm managing to grab ~20 repos/second but that still adds up to 138 days

I don't even know what to say at this point, this script is cursed. In a momentary concession to sanity, though, I decided to use a database instead of a big file + grep gist.github.com/moyix/c0e77fe9…

@moyix Could removing duplicate files (by hash comparison) save some space? Especially for forks of big repos where people they just change only a line of code and don't touch the rest.

Reassessing some things (mainly my life choices) after discovering that the first 35000 repos take up 180GB, so I'd need ~1PB to store all 240 million.

Urk. Our self-hosted Github Actions runner mysteriously can't pick up and run jobs from any of the repositories in this semester's Classroom (but newly created jobs in repos from last semester work fine). :|

@moyix By the way, you can allow the self-hosted runners to run jobs from public repos from the runner/runner group settings:

User (me) error, thankfully. Accidentally made the new repos public (oops) and runners don't take jobs from public repos.

@moyix @vs3225 @DidymaWorks Yes, this is the one. Although there are no digital versions available, I was able to find the 1880 version online though. archive.org/details/redhou… (surprisingly, it says Turkish instead of Ottoman) This has turned into something deeper for certain.

@vs3225 @DidymaWorks Yep, I believe this is the Redhouse Turkish-English dictionary. The original is from 1890, but I don't think the copy I was looking at was that old.
