Tacha, I play in this MSME space. So I can offer an opinion grounded in FACTS. I first heard about Oloye Akin Alabi in 2014/2015. What he has done for small businesses in the last 20 years is not a joke. In 2018, he sent me some money to deliver career and small business related training sessions for hundreds of young people in Akure and Ibadan. He has been running small business sessions on his own ever since and even wrote two books. Micro businesses need that N100,000. More so, they need visibility. I am not here to insult you. I just wanted to offer a perspective that you might not have considered. In addition to what he is doing, could you use your platform to promote more businesses? That would be the way to go instead of criticising him. Eku ise Oloye @akinalabi 🙏🏽.

TACHA🔱🇬🇭 🇳🇬@Symply_Tacha

you’re one of the very few Nigerian politicians who built real wealth outside politics… You’ve run successful businesses both within and outside Nigeria, so i mean you understand the reality of building and sustaining a business far better than most people, including MySELF. And tHats why this kind of initiative is honestly hard to process esp. coming from you.. From someone else, it might pass. But from you sIR? it feels rather disappointing cause it comes across almost like “vote-buying” even tho that may not be the intention. ₦100,000 to 5,000 people may sound impactful on the surface, but when you really think about it, what kind of businesses can that realistically build? How many more pure water, Ewedu &pepper sellers, or even small roadside traders can that community absorb? These are already saturated spaces, and most of them don’t even lead to long-term sustainability or lift people out of poverty. If the real goal is empowerment, then it has to be sustainable. Imagine channeling that same ₦500 million into 10–20 already existing, viable businesses within your constituency. Businesses that are working, that just need capital to scale.. With your experience, you can identify and support them properly. Those businesses grow. They hire more people. Even if each employs just 5 additional staff, that’s over 100 people earning steady monthly income, not a one-off ₦100,000 And that’s how you move people out of poverty.. And support long-term.. and as those businesses strives, the impact multiplies over years. Sir, you understand this better than MOST. That’s why this approach feels surprising. Because this isn’t just about sharing money, it’s about creating SYSTEMS that LAST. with your level of exposure and business expertise, you have the opportunity to build something far more sustainable and TRANSFORMATIONAL than this.

@SunKingNigeria Why can't I just buy an item directly from your website and get it delivered to my doorstep? Why do I have to go through about 2 customer supports just to register to get the item? Why is your sales process complicated? How are you guys even making money??

@lekusg @GROOTPlanetX @ademoladebusoye I know people will say they can't do car wash but I can assure you that it is more profitable and befitting than being a bolt driver. You can build a company out of the business if you put in your best, processes and marketing. Have your own car and just learn how to detail.

@lekusg @GROOTPlanetX @ademoladebusoye If you don't know something, you simply ask. Google Car or Mobile Detailing. It's just like a Car Wash business but you mostly move to your clients and it's a more rigorous or detailed cleaning. It's more lucrative than doing Bolt. You can also employ people

I started doing Bolt in 2020/21 to support my 9-5 income coz my wife didn't have a job at the time and i asked her not to apply yet until after childbirth. One night in ikeja, I had a request to pick someone at Fela shrine to ogunnaike Street, road was free. When I dropped her at the venue she paid me and I was waiting for another ride but didn't see quickly. Thus lady called if I hadn't left that I should wait, she will do offline trip I refused that she should order a ride and since I'm close I will pick the ride immediately - she did. When we got back to shrine, she said I should come to the back seat, she had changed into a shorter skirt when she first dropped. Back seat for what? Madam pay my money make I dey go, she said she wanted to pay in kind that she was clean. I told her to come down and go she should leave the money. I ended the trip and reported to Bolt, they paid me immediately by crediting my app balance, but I was already owing commission, so it was deducted. In my head I'm like, shey na knacks I go use buy food for house and pay my bills. I stopped not long after because my wife didn't like that I was getting home late.
