In a world of competing narratives:
-> Tariff uncertainties (Supreme Court action in Feb)
-> Broader inflationary pressure (oil volatility from Middle East)
-> Tech-sector under pressure from AI-disruptions
-> Metals in a structural bull run
BTC is caught in the middle. Correlation (doesn't imply causation, but) tells us something interesting :
-> BTC/Tech (XLK) corr is structurally asymmetric and exacerbated in risk-off drawdowns - we saw this in early 2022, even pre-FTX, and the most recent "Tech Wreck"
-> BTC≠digital gold. Phys gold buying driven by de-dollarization trend and central bank activity, and that incremental capital doesn't flow into a 50-60v asset as readily.
It'll be interesting to see how the road leading up to US midterm elections plays out.
