🍩I was overweight, eating carelessly. 💔 One day, I felt a *blip* in my chest. My heart was having trouble. 🥑 Started building @hola_kami to help me hack my weight loss. 🥳 Now, my weight is the lowest I've ever been. Follow me in my journey to help other achieve the same!

@dagorenouf Are you sure? Your business’d have global rent, which is taxed in Ireland; and to which you’d render personal services, which are taxed in France. As far as I know there’s an international tax treaty between Ireland and France that would apply here.

@akiraakimura yes, headed to Georgia for now 🇬🇪. Your idea sounds good in theory buy France gov would tax me same as a french company, they would consider this tax evasion.

I'm leaving France for a low tax country because last time I reached $10K monthly revenue (average, not MRR), it didn't even allow my ex and I to get a mortgage for an apartment. Then I burned out.

Every month, the Podscan.fm transcription servers ingest 30TB of audio data. The resulting transcripts and metadata grow my database by 100GB every 50 days. Is this big data? :P

@neuranne I do everything in English (my 2nd language). Then carry out my life normally in Spanish. This subject is fascinating. Apparently when you think in your 2nd language you become a better decision-maker because you’re less emotional in that language. amp.theguardian.com/science/2023/s…

Bilingual folks – do you take notes in English and/or in your other language? What about journaling? Do you think differently depending on the language?

@arvidkahl I like no. 8, but with an narrower search field. To me legibility would be more important than aesthetics.

Ooooh, these are spectacular :D I have a few favorites, but my opinion matters very little. What do YOU think?

I'm working on logo design for @arvidkahl and his awesome Podscan. Here's our progress so far. What's your take, people? Which logo best represents his podcast scanning tool? Be gentle though, these are just initial rough sketches :)

@benjamincrozat @arvidkahl Talk at Google is worth the while, especially the one with Clayton Christensen. There he explains the concepts of Jobs to Be Done and disruptive innovation (which he coined) beautifully. I think that precise episode is only on YouTube.

Anyone has podcasts recommendations related to business and software (code or design), solo or more, without rich dudes masturbating each other over how rich they are? I just can't empathize with that ATM... I love listening to successful and rich people (that's what I'm aiming for), but who are genuinely modest about it. Also, if they could avoid 20 minutes intro about how their wife, kids, and dog are doing, that would be even better! 👌

@akiraakimura @tdinh_me @Cloudflare It’s like API gateway but for AI services. So instead of sending requests to OpenAI, you send to the gateway. This allows you to cache, retry, rate limit, observe costs etc.

@dagorenouf The worst part of 9-to-5 is how disposable you become. You can dedicate your life to a company, but they can lay you off in a sec. I witnessed that at a big tech and it was awful to see people with 30+ years in the company being laid off.

I’m always amazed when I meet people who have worked in the same company for 30 years. We’re so used to the tech industry where people change jobs every 2-4 years, it’s hard to imagine how it’d feel to be working with same colleagues for decades.
