'IT'S FAKE AND A BLATANT LIE' Muling dinepensahan ng legal counsel ni Atty. |  via Camille Samonte

So mali ang unang nailabas na datos ng DOE o biglang may delivery in the last 48 to 72 hours? Para maging more than 90 days ang oil supply, may dumagdag na delivery na at least 22.5Mn barrels. This is good news if true but at least we have to vet this. @DOEgovph @WinGatchalian74

@TransportGuy We should push again for this. But is its legality just the chairman's opinion or LTFRB's official position? Better to have a memo or circular to protect the legit carpoolers that when money changes hands but done privately for cost-sharing is not subject to colorum practice.

This oil crisis, sorry, I mean price disruption, needs multiple solutions to get through. There’s no one single fix to it all, so we need to start seriously considering every option, like carpooling at scale, as a genuine alternative to taking your own car every day. The proof of concept already exists. We used to have Wunder. It was more than just a carpooling app, it was a community that actually helped ease congestion and save gas. Then the LTFRB killed it because it looked too much like a transport service. It wasn’t. It was neighbors helping neighbors get to work. Waze even piloted a program and was considering bringing it here. Then the pandemic hit, and it quietly disappeared. Both gone. Never replaced. Yes, options still exist. Grab has GrabShare. inDrive lets you negotiate fares. UTOL promotes cost-splitting between commuters. They all do something, and they do it well. But they’re still businesses. There’s a margin built in, a company in the middle, and a commercial incentive that shapes every decision they make. That’s not a criticism. It’s just not the same thing. What we’re talking about is something more organic, non-profit at its core, and honestly more sustainable because of it. The two can absolutely coexist. Because here’s the thing. Carpooling at its core shouldn’t be a business. It’s a behavior. A shared cost between two or more people going the same direction deciding not to take two cars. Every morning, thousands of cars leave the same villages, pass the same toll plazas, sit in the same traffic, heading to the same business districts. One driver. Four or more empty seats. Multiplied by thousands. Every single day. That’s not a traffic problem, it’s a coordination problem. And coordination problems have never been easier to solve. I know because I built one yesterday. No coding background. No developer on call. Ten minutes. Ive posted the screenshots so you can see exactly how simple it is. Any developer, any IT student, any startup founder with a free weekend can do the same for their village or subdivision. No venture capital. No complicated tech. Just a matching system that connects drivers and passengers already going the same way. Now here’s the part people always ask about. The legality. I’ve actually interviewed the LTFRB chairman on this before, and his answer was clear. If no money is being directly charged through the platform, they have no jurisdiction and no intention of stepping in. The moment it starts looking like a fare-based service, it enters their crosshairs. So keep the app clean. What neighbors choose to sort out between themselves, privately, is between them. Now, someone’s already typing “but it’s dangerous, you’re letting a stranger into your car.” Fair point. But nobody bats an eye when people connect on Tinder, match on Bumble, and meet complete strangers for dinner. At night. Alone. Because the app gave them a profile and a photo and that felt like enough. A carpooling app for your village gives you the same thing, but with proper verification, plus you probably already know the person’s car, their route, and three of their neighbors. The benefits go beyond fuel. Fewer cars means faster travel for everyone. Less wear on your vehicle. Less parking stress. And less mental load, because sitting in traffic alone is exhausting in a way that sitting in traffic with company just isn’t. Use the seats you already have. One car. One trip. Four people. That math works at any oil price. PS: this app is not live. I just did it through Claude as a demo to inspire anyone that wants to do this in their community.

@inquirerdotnet At Php 60:USD1 exchange rate and USD365/barrel global diesel price, the Php20Bn can only purchase 965k barrels of diesel. This can meet the average daily demand for diesel for 5 days but lead time for delivery is 15 to 30 days if order is placed today.

@gmanews Sa ibang news report, 1mn barrels. So net effect, less than 40 days na lang ang stock by the end of the week!

My go-to kanto silog has just increased its selling price from Php50 to Php60! Inflation by 20%! Saklap! #phcrisiswatch @LTFRB @DtiPhilippines

@gmanews btw, yung 1Mn liters ng petrolyo na parating ay katumbas lamang ng 6,300 barrels which is only 1% of our daily oil consumption. so it won't make a dent. so by the end of this week, we will be down to 38 to 40 days supply stock/

"We have been assured [by] these countries on the consistency of their supply," ayon kay Sec. Garin. | via @Joseph_Morong PANOORIN ANG KAUGNAY NA ULAT: youtu.be/v0r2sWPp4BE?si…

@gmanews 30-day average supply stock. but since we are in critical times, deep concern nga kung may mga parating na stock at may mapagkukunan pa. so continuous monitoring sa stock level.

More than 400 gasoline stations across the country have temporarily shut down amid the ongoing oil crisis, according to the Philippine National Police. PNP spokesperson PBGen. Randulf Tuaño said, this figure is part of the 14,313 gasoline stations nationwide currently being monitored by authorities.
