Akhilesh simply doesn't have the political acumen of Mulayam Yadav. Yadavs as a community would've been the single largest beneficiary of this delimitation. Instead of asking for more based on 2011 census, he rather got played by Congress & DMK in rejecting his own interests.

@thepeeinghuman This moral positioning is actually easier for Kunal Kamra because he doesn't have a successful career as a comedian, therefore low stake. Samay Raina on the other hand is in Top 100 most famous people of India right now with a booming successful career, thus a lot on stake.

Vaishnavite Nita Ambani imposing her vegetarianism on Maa Kamakhya's ancient Shakta rituals by "rescuing" goats meant for Devi's offerings. Stop this cultural overreach. One sampradaya doesn't get to reform another's dharma. Maa Kamakhya's customs aren't your Vantara project Mam.

Yesterday, Nita Ambani visited the Kamakhya Temple Guwahati for darshan. She said that the animals and birds there, including goats and pigeons, will be taken to Vantara in Jamnagar. The goats will be taken there so they can live freely and safely.🙏

As expected Israel trying to break the peace. US backing Israel. Those talking about India not achieving stature and Pakistan being big as a global mediator - maybe some useful lessons. Don’t be impulsive to react to everything. India has got many things wrong but our execution of foreign policy this time has been stellar. The last thing India needs is a becoming a football among a group that is mercurial, irrational and unreasonable. India is better off securing its needs and relations.

The 500 MW Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor at Kalpakkam went critical yesterday. India is the only country other than Russia which will have commercial fast breeders that will then enable the utilisation of our vast thorium reserves. This reactor is the result of over three decades of dedicated, dogged, disciplined, and determined effort on the part of our nuclear energy establishment - the foundations of which were laid by the Bhabha-Nehru duo and so many other distinguished nuclear scientists and technologists who came later. I vividly recall my own visit to Kalpakkam in July 2008 and the interactions I had with Dr. Baldev Raj and his team. It was a most inspiring morning. It would have only been proper for the PM to have acknowledged in his post the continuity in this stupendous achievement.

Modi keeps delivering Ws in geopolitics, extracting every pound of benefit possible from each global crisis. We weren't even on the table for most of these things earlier. The problem is that critics keep judging him on T20 template for the long Test Match that Geopolitics is.

This idiot is crying saying India is helping Israel vs Iran, and then goes on to say that India is irrelevant. Which one of the both is true, you dumb fuck? Furthermore, imagine the sheer irony in using words like slave/dog while giving gawk gawk to the Chinese in the same tweet
Alon Mizrahi@alon_mizrahi

While the white colonial West, that drank India's blood for centuries, prepares for a final war of annihilation against Iran, India's historic neighbour, the worthless whore Modi comes to the Israeli knesset to receive a medal for being a good dog, and help Israel carry own with its regional and global megalomania. Why does he do that? Well, he is dumber than your average door stop, we know that; but it is not just stupidity, it is also a brown inferiority complex; he wants India to be a superpower and counter China, because they feel humiliated by China's success; and he wants to overcome Pakistan and Islam across historic India; And he doesn't think of making India strong by taking care of its people. No, he wants a shortcut. He wants hundreds of millions of Indians to continue to live in actual sewages and waste basins, have almost nothing to eat, have no normal infrastructure, and be fed a diet of hate and ignorance served daily by India's billionaire media. Exploited, oppressed, divided, humiliated, no sense of a future - and compensating with hate and fantasies of grandeur. - China never chose this path. It always chose the betterment of its people and infrastructure over militarist fantasies (that is, once it successfully decolonized itself, a project which will only be completed when it retakes Taiwan). It has already guaranteed its global edge for the next century, investing massively in railways and roads, schools and universities, hospital and modern cities, and making its air cleaner, its deserts smaller, and making sure people are fed and made to feel a sense of promise and dignity. But India, no. India has a sickness of nationalism and fantastical thinking. It doesn't want to address its actual challenges and real problems, or understand its place in a world that's eager to move to a post-colonial phase (thank god a millions times for China and Iran). India has no clue about class struggle and anti-colonial struggle; it only ever obsesses about addressing its eternally fragile ego, and making up for a terrifying sense of irrelevance with fascistic megalomania, and weaponry its ignorant masses cannot even use properly on the battlefield, as was clearly demonstrated in the short skirmish with Pakistan last year. I hope India can someday have a system not run by idiot, treasonous, willful slaves. - And Israel, similarly, with its own sickness of megalomania and fantastical thinking, dreaming of using India to become an empire and stop the rise of China and the Global South, in the name of the master race. A superiority complex that finds its perfect match in India's class and race servile traitor, Modi. - Both India and Israel are in for a very rude Chinese awakening (alongside their alien mothership, the US).

@johnstanly One of the reasons India kept supporting Palestine was to keep it close to the Arabs. Since the Palestinian cause is no longer central to the Arabs themselves now, there is no incentive for India to continue their one sided love for Palestine at the cost of National interests.

India's #WestAsia policy, at least from the early 1990s, rested on three pillars--the Arab world, Iran and Israel. Even when India started building a closer and stronger partnership with #Israel, driven by intelligence, defence and tech cooperation, it maintained a balance between the pillars. The Arab world, especially the Persian Gulf kingdoms, are important for energy and as a key source of remittance. Millions of Indians are living and working in the region. India started cutting energy ties with Iran during Manmohan Singh's time--under pressure from the Americans. But Iran remains a key player in India's regional calculus--a gateway for Central Asia and a significant Eurasian partner. Later, a BRICS member. Israel is a key defence and tech partner. After October 7, even though the PM declared solidarity with the Israelis, India was cautious not to disrupt the balance. The MEA reiterated India's support for the Palestine cause. The EAM, at least twice, publicly expressed India's displeasure with the way Israel fought the war in Gaza. India repeatedly voted in favour the Palestine cause and against Israel's occupation of the Palestinian territories and Syria's Golan Heights at the UN. It also joined BRICS countries to directly condemn Israel-America's June war against Iran. When Israel bombed Qatar in September, the PM himself "condemned" the strike, without naming Israel, though. But Modi's visit to Israel marks a clear shift. There is nothing wrong in the PM visiting a friendly country. But the timing is the key, which will attract a lot of regional and international attention. Israel's war killed at least 75,000 people in Gaza, a vast majority of them women and children. A UN commission concluded that Israel committed genocide, the gravest international crime, against Palestinians. Israel has bombed at least six countries in the region since October 7. Its Prime Minister is wanted by the ICC for war crimes. Tensions remain high in the region with a possible American-Israeli attack on Iran in the near future. Despite a U.S.-backed ceasefire, Israel continues to bomb Gaza, and has taken a series of steps initiating the annexation of the occupied West Bank, which has sparked regional and international outrage. In the midst of all this, the Indian Prime Minister is visiting Israel, embracing its leader, addressing its Parliament and declaring solidarity with the country. This shows India is moving away from the traditional balancing act and is tilting towards Tel Aviv. I can understand the reasons behind the tilt. One is the vibrant defence and intel partnership, which has been under way since the 1990s. Two is the ideological orientation of the ruling party, which sees Zionist Israel as a natural partner (you can see that in the comments of this post). Three, and more important, regional developments. After Israel bombed Qatar (and the US did nothing), Saudi Arabia signed a strategic defence pact with Pakistan, giving Islamabad a greater space in West Asia. The Persian Gulf kingdoms are no longer under a common tent. There are serious divisions between the UAE and the Saudis. The Emiratis, one of India's I2U2 partners, maintains their close ties with Israel despite Gaza. As the gulf in the Gulf widens, the UAE also seeks to strengthen ties with India. MBZ was recently in Delhi. Saudi Arabia, which is not going to normalise ties with Israel any time soon (which also means that IMEC is not going to take off), is building close partnerships with Pakistan and Turkey, while the UAE is expanding ties with India and Israel. As the strategic picture of the region changes, India thinks the moment is favourable for it to upgrade its ties with Israel, which would also please Trump. These are the reasons. What we don't know is what the consequences will be. Only time will tell whether abandoning the traditional balance is a rewarding tactical shift or a strategic error. #ModiInIsrael
