Under Item 5, Group 7, Schedule 9, VAT Act 1994, “The provision of a deputy for a person registered in the register of medical practitioners,” is exempt. Agencies providing a doctor usually shouldn't charge VAT. Ironically most AHPs are taxable

🔴 Nothing to see here, just an ACP bragging about saving millions of pounds by flooding Derby Trust @UHDBTrust with OTs, physios, and other AHPs who are replacing doctors. This ACP is approaching retirement but is proudly stabbing doctors and patients in the back. ⭕️ She thinks occupational therapists who know NOTHING about medicine can work as SHOs/registrars. ⭕️ “Why pay those mini gods £75/hour when I got you cheaper ACPs?” ⭕️ End result: ➖ Doctors forced to accept pathetic locum pay ➖ Unemployed doctors ➖ Patient safety put at risk Medicine is a dead career.

@medicalmodelbri Interesting that Prof Watkins said that at a time when Swansea didn't mandate that applicants to PA studies had a science degree or even any degree at all. Surely as program lead she could have advocated for stricter entrance requirements to reflect her beliefs here?

@bobbysova @ElevatorsComing @EricLDaugh That shouldn't be the case. Accreditation and quality assurance processes should ensure that the student finishing dead last still meets a sufficient minimum standard that they practice safely and don't make bad decisions.

@ElevatorsComing @EricLDaugh They may be qualified when it comes to passing tests, but that’s akin to the person who went to medical school and finished dead last in his class. The worst student of all finished dead last and that person is still a doctor. That doctor will end up making really bad decisions.
