Good story. Noticed that the lobbyist here represents the group opposing the data center moratorium that Mills vetoed and legislature couldn't override on Wed. Story says they spoke that night & after Mills issued exec order. Also, (1/2) mainelobbying.com/profile/client…

A lobbyist told Janet Mills on Wednesday night that he’d raise more money for her flagging campaign. “Hold off,” she said. @BenKail and I look at how Mills lost and Platner won. bangordailynews.com/2026/05/01/pol…

“I say, look, if they’re bankrupting the country or covering up for pedophiles or starting another war or spying on you without a warrant, I’m sorry, that’s when I deviate from the party,” says Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY). nytimes.com/2026/05/02/us/…

In NE-02, Democratic Majority for Israel was set to buy ads attacking John Cavanaugh until a second Super PAC backed by the New Dems upped their ad buy. The paper trail is clear. Denise Powell, the beneficiary of this ad, has said publicly she would reject AIPAC or DMFI support.

The latest Jacobin article attacking data center moratoria weaponizes social justice language to shift blame from the Big Tech billionaires onto working class Americans fighting to protect their communities against further exploitation. Let's debunk some of these absurd claims🧵

The worst part of discourse is when the rats circle. Let’s hear about petty theft & progressive chic from a writer who blamed beating his girlfriend on rap music in his memoir! No? OK, what about a writer who argued there was a legal way to kill children? Still unconvinced?

The “we didn’t fail, the voters did” mentality has destroyed the Democratic Party.
best of kamala harris@archivekamala

.@CoryBooker: “You may disagree with her [Kamala Harris] on 10% of her views, but you let someone get in office who you disagree with on everything. You let somebody get in office who is locking up our children. You let somebody in office who is taking away our healthcare.”

When simulation becomes the norm, it weakens the human capacity for discernment. As a result, our social bonds close in upon themselves, forming self-referential circuits that no longer expose us to reality. We thus come to live within bubbles, impermeable to one another. Feeling threatened by anyone who is different, we grow unaccustomed to encounter and dialogue. In this way, polarization, conflict, fear and violence spread. What is at stake is not merely the risk of error, but a transformation in our very relationship with truth.
