@joenzyy @canuniwsoccer @WsoccerCa Because the U17 World Cup and qualifiers now happen every year, they want to get players identified and playing together, to prepare for next year.
Also - they apparently beat Poland 4-0 today - yay!

Is the thought of this over a U23 team so that they can develop earlier to prep girls for /national team/pro sooner (I assume?)

🍁 The U16 squad dropped their first match 2-0 to Sweden on Tuesday. Sweden scored two second half goals in the 66th and 90th minutes.
Canada will play their second match vs. Poland on Friday before concluding camp on Saturday.

@ConcacafW So, the entire competition is going on hiatus for 14 months, and clubs that have won their national championship in the past year, probably won't get to compete, as it will be this year's champions that get in for 2027 instead. Vancouver Rise get screwed by CONCACAF, again.

For Vancouver, the Colombians looked good, and we've still got talent in attack. But it'll be a fragile patchwork defence for a while.

Also thought Lopez was quite good with a few creative moments.
Hard and physical battle. High pressing plus nerves = forced errors. No love lost. Referee had to intervene early and often.
