It was a unanimous decision - extremely rare. Spectacularly reversible error. If Jim Kitchens were still justice he would likely have voted against. He interviewed for @MSTODAYnews just days before his re-election bid involving a party in a case which he was presiding.

Three fascinating graphics. All tell the same story. At some level, as tech improves, we should have fewer people able to accomplish the same or more over time. That's not to say that government workers are bad. Quite the opposite. Most people in government want to serve and want to get better at what they do. In terms of regulation, however, there's a limit to improving the regulatory environment and over proliferation of services by fiat or policy alone. At some point if you're serious about changing those things long term, you have to change (reduce) the numbers of people doing it. That's happening in real time. On a micro level (people you know) that can be disruptive while at the same time on a macro level, it can be enormously positive for productivity and the economy as a whole.
