@skepticalzebra @jengleruk One day the closure of schools will be like the Iraq war, you won't be able to find anyone who supported it

@PaveyOwen45415 @LancsCCMG The article doesn't say that though. Surrey has shown how to get a younger audience interested in watching red ball. They showed it the love and respect it deserved by publicising it to their online audience and making the match day experience as good as possible.

@LancsCCMG An article which features as it's main photo a photo of an empty Northamptonshire County Ground during a County Championship match. And you think taking The Hundred away and going back to what we had prior to 2020 is going to get the young interested in watching red ball?

Rocky batting in the nets at lunch. Looks pretty good to me. Hopefully he's fully fit to play a four day game soon.

@DavidHollidge I moved to London in my 20s with a strong Lancashire accent. I recall people making similar assumptions. Being underestimated made me work harder & smarter. When I did a lot of media, I found that producers/public valued the authenticity. A great face for radio!

@DavidHollidge I don't agree with that at all. I don't want to start listing from the bottom but I like a NE England accent. Authentic, warm and iconic.

@DavidHollidge Did you grow up with lambs liver? I did and it put me off for a long time. Calves liver cooked properly is though very good

@DavidHollidge Go to Nantucket or the Cape Cod peninsula whilst you are there, unless in peak summer. Very cool flight from Boston to Nantucket.

Can’t criticise @YorkshireCCC for lack of forward thinking! 10 years notice of the AGM is outstanding - shame I’m busy that day..

This is the perfect summary of why regulation can be so pointless/damaging. Hundreds of people love this cafe. It's always full. Closing it would do active damage to the community. And yet... thetimes.com/article/6d2789…

2. The impact is to create unacceptable control by the Board. If these resolutions succeed, then it’s effectively the end of Lancashire CCC being a members Club, since members would be giving up some of their rights and much of their ability to influence.

I've noticed, when dealing with the council, that absolutely everything is conducted via post. It's probs useful to receive hard copies for some things, but many people have busy lives/jobs and may be out of their home for much of the day. Emails can be replied to immediately

@davidoncricket Members don't run county cricket. In many counties they aren't even allowed to stand for election to their board unless they meet incredibly narrow selection criteria.

Rod Bransgrove criticizes members for holding the game back and the power base “held by so few people”. Is the number of CEOs higher or lower than the number of members?
talkSPORT Cricket@Cricket_TS

Can someone explain to me why oil being the same price as it was in 2011-14 (and much lower in real terms) is a crisis now but wasn't a crisis then?

It’s psychologically horrible to have such a debt. But it doesn’t matter. She’ll never pay off her loan. She’ll pay extra 9% income tax above Plan 2 threshold, £29,385 from April, which will mean less disposable income, but after 30 years, however massive, debt will disappear.
BBC Newsnight@BBCNewsnight

“I graduated from my undergraduate degree last summer… and I have £90,231 of student loan debt.” Gina Tindale, 22, who went to university from a low income background, says the necessity to take out a larger maintenance loan has significantly added to her debt. #Newsnight
