We have a first team squad of nearly 30 players. If you go through it and try to identify leaders and players with a bit of fight, it’s grim reading. Knoester, Nilsen, Shinnie, Geiger, Nisbet. That’s about it.

@AberIytics Hate to say it but Hearts have the perfect balance on what you need. 100% agree on the Kyziridis argument, plenty of gems to be found in Europe

I agree with the spine of the team needing to be British but we still need a sprinkle of foreign talent. Let’s look at Hearts for instance. They have a spine of Halkett, Baningime, Shankland but you’re never going to find a British winger as good as Kyziridis for the same value.

@NeilMac1903 Every signing carries a risk, especially a big money signing. I’m hoping for a mix of Scottish and foreign signings in the summer, hopefully none from Australia though 😂

@alanoafc1903 It is, ye. Lyle Cameron a good example of someone who I’m sure regrets not coming to us at 1st opportunity. He’s most definitely the type we should be going for. Watson at Killie another. I’d much rather we spend half a million on these type rather than a Keskinnen type risk

It’s a yes from me. The last couple of years watching drifters that I’ve never heard of land and fail to live up to the hype and move on before I’ve learned how to spell their name has been tiring. Give me a Shay Logan type with a bit of passion any day.

@NeilMac1903 When we had the likes of McGinn, Rooney, Hayes etc, we probably had more of a pull on Hearts and Hibs but now, we are competing with them for certain players, British market is tough especially when it comes to Scottish players

@alanoafc1903 Absolutely! Right now there’s defo an imbalance, and I think that’s what SR recognises. Particularly with likes of Shinnie, Devlin, Armstrong aging……the ‘spine’ needs revitalising.

@PostfixKen @tailso1988 Exactly. Miovski got us £7 million but yet there’s been no success what so ever. We’ve had the likes of McLean and Ferguson but in terms of recent years, there’s not been many if at all British players that’s have came close to Bojan, Duk and Rama

Mowbray already been abroad looking at players so they’ll be a few from there I reckon

@tailso1988 @RyanCryle Miovski, Ramadani, Duk, Knoester, Karlsson, Geiger, PHG is not a “disaster”. Course we’ve gotten ourselves Ambrose etc too but let’s not forget our last big first team recruit from EFL (Yengi) who’s the worst signing by some margin, and Olysanya from EFL who’s also rotten.

He’ll need backed in the summer, the board and recruitment need to focus on the time and now, not players that can earn them a few million in a few years. Just curious on how Robinson hasn’t had a chance at a big club

@alanoafc1903 @BigBadP @watterloony This board and style of how we want to play baffles me. There are many ways to achieve things, but it never happens without effort and fitness. Styles of fitba can be adjusted to suit requirements. Don’t be fooled. Robinson is quite capable of this, imo. Time will tell, though.🤷🏼‍♂️

@rennie_mjr @BigBadP @watterloony Still feel it’s an underwhelming appointment. We brought in a DOF who has world wide contacts and end up with someone from within the league. Agree with just winning games but the board come out with how they want to play, that’s not his style, he might have to adapt

Fair enough. I think he can achieve those. I wanted McGlynn or a manager with Scottish experience. I didn't want Horneland.

I think we should usually be top 4, always top 6, and putting in a good challenge for the cups, whilst occassionally winning one. I have a wee feeling he might achieve this for us 🤞.
