@imjustabillman @AndyTFE @SecretaryBurgum Sigh….its not opposition of the renovation, the reno using NPS when it was already proposed to be done pro bono, shrinking the number of holes so less use, all for bringing something to dc that is scheduled out until 2037. Also it doesn’t have the land to host that event

@SecretaryBurgum Torrey and Bethpage have multiple full regulation courses which make it loved by the community. People like Torrey north and Bethpage red and build stories there. This is terrible and also has no room for hospitality. This is shrinking public golf. #boycottthefaz

A group of amateur golfers… who are professional administrators. Surely the real question is why would we let somebody who plays golf for a living decide what is best for the game?

Good news for Langston and Rock Creek. Both courses were in limbo; the administration didn't seem to have any interest in them, and no other viable operators were stepping forward. But the effort to transform East Potomac into a high-end major championship venue will continue to be a battle. That vision for the facility would just be so hard to execute — logistically, legally, financially.

@SHistorians No need to apologize, I’ve read this with as much anticipation as your other posts. Nothing greater than a Dad supporting their kid.

I am so incredibly proud of my youngest daughter Charlotte. She followed in the footsteps of two of the best lacrosse goalies her school has ever produced, which is never easy- as an 8th grader parents would ask her if she was going to be ready for Varsity. It was a ton of pressure on a 13 year old following two great goalies. This evening in her first ever playoff game she gave up 2 goals and made 6 saves (75% save percentage) and eclipsed 100 saves for the season becoming only the second goalie in her school’s history to top the 100 save mark in a single season and the only Freshman. Charlotte finished the regular season with the most saves of any goalie in Western Florida and her pass completion rate is likely the best in the state at over 99% (1 turnover in 117 passes). All that being said, it wasn’t all rainbows. In 2-3 games she certainly looked like a Freshman in goal, but she has worked so hard at finding her mental balance. This evening with our announcers out of town, I walked into the booth and took the mic and got a little teary eyed when I announced that she had reached 100 saves! The girls won their playoff game and play on Tuesday for the District Championship!!! I apologize for the non-golf post that may seem braggy, but I am so damn proud of her. A couple of games ago she was in tears after a bad game and she found a way to refocus and shine in the playoffs. #NonGolfHistory

The restoration of one of the coolest holes in the world right here. I love the way you can bounce in a shot to the front punchbowl using the left. Previously the course had lost the front portion of this green.
