What an incredible night in North Edmonton. The energy in the room, the sold-out crowd, and the growing support we’re seeing across the city are a reminder that more and more Edmontonians are connecting with our message of safer communities, economic growth, lower taxes, and common sense government. But none of this happens on its own. It happens because of grassroots conservatives who keep showing up, knocking doors, having conversations, and standing up for the future they want for Alberta and their families. Thank you for everyone who showed up, including colleagues Brandon Lunty, Jennifer Johnson, and Searle Turton @SearleTurton who took questions from the audience.

Mothers are the heart of our homes and families. Their love, strength, sacrifice, and encouragement shape who we become. And today, I want to thank my mom, Sharon, for everything she has done for me throughout my life. Your love and support have meant more than words can say. Happy Mother’s Day to every mom, grandmother, stepmom, foster mom, and mother figure across our province.

NDP leader Naheed Nenshi accused Premier Danielle Smith of being a “foreign agent” of Saudi Arabia. Although Mr. @nenshi has a reputation of being untruthful, calling your political opponent an agent of a foreign government is disturbing and dangerous. Apologize immediately.

We are very glad to have you back on our 🧢 conservative team Scott. Scott has always been a strong advocate for Lesser Slave Lake and for northern Alberta, and I know how deeply he cares about the people and communities he represents. I want to thank him for the sincere effort he has made to reconnect with caucus and rejoin our team. I look forward to working together again on behalf of Albertans.
Scott Sinclair@mlasinclair

I have an exciting announcement to make. It’s one of the greatest honours of my life to represent the people of Lesser Slave Lake. You have placed your trust in me to be your voice, and that responsibility matters deeply to me. Over the past year, I’ve taken some time to reflect on certain moments and on how I chose to raise concerns publicly, particularly when it came to colleagues and teammates in government. While holding government to account is an important part of our Westminster system, I wasn’t elected to serve as a member of the opposition. I was elected as a member of the United Conservative Party, a team I was proud to be part of and one that the people of Lesser Slave Lake put their trust in.  Looking back, there were times I let passion and emotion lead my decisions. My public criticism of the Premier and the government, particularly around the budget, came from passion for our riding, but I recognize now there was a better way to handle those disagreements. I’ve always stood up for my constituents, and that’ll never change. But I’ve learned that how I raise concerns matters and that I’m best able to serve the people I represent when I work as part of a strong team. I’m grateful for the opportunity to move forward, and I’m glad to be welcomed back in the United Conservative Caucus, where I belong, working alongside colleagues to deliver for the great people of Lesser Slave Lake and for all Albertans. This is an exciting day for our riding and I’m ready to get back to work in Government.

Met an incredible young man named Brendan today and had the chance to hear a bit of his story. Moments like that remind you what McHappy Day is really all about supporting families going through some of the hardest days of their lives. Grateful to take part again this year in support of Ronald McDonald House. Thank you to @McDonaldsCanada and everyone who donated to help families just like Brendan’s. And a special thank you to the amazing team at the Stollery. You perform miracles every single day, and I can’t wait until you have a brand new Stollery Hospital to match the incredible care you provide.

Alberta’s youth unemployment rate is too high. With a steep increase of temporary workers in recent years, young Albertans are too often being overlooked for entry-level jobs. I was grateful to meet a few of these hardworking young Albertans at Home Hardware in Cardston recently. In response, Alberta's UCP government launched the Alberta Youth Employment Incentive to help youth enter the workforce. This program will enable approximately 3,500 businesses hire up to 8,750 youth in Alberta. Learn more: alberta.ca/alberta-youth-…

BREAKING: A Presidential permit has been approved for a new bitumen pipeline that will initially deliver more than half a million barrels per day of Alberta oil to facilities and refineries throughout the United States. This project is a joint venture between two great Canadian and US companies South Bow and Bridger using existing assets. After years of advocacy from our government, and following the signing of the Canada-Alberta Energy Agreement last year, the federal government has lifted their oil and gas production cap. This means Alberta producers will be able to produce more of the oil that the world needs. It’s incredible to see that work already paying off with announcements like this. The US is our most important trading partner and we will continue to deliver energy to help secure North American energy dominance.

🚨BIG NEWS: Our government is raising the speed limit to 120 km/h on a 22-kilometre stretch of Highway 2 south of Leduc, starting today. Transportation Minister @DevinDreeshen launched the pilot with Leduc-Beaumont MLA Brandon Lunty. What this means for Alberta drivers: 🚗 Faster, more efficient commutes 📋 Common-sense rules that reflect what Albertans have asked for 🛑 Tougher fines for dangerous drivers who put others at risk Our government will continue to invest in our road network and deliver traffic rules that make sense for everyday drivers.

With over 80,000 students arriving in Alberta in just three years alone, mainly due to out-of-control federal immigration policies and record high interprovincial migration, the need for more teachers in our classrooms has never been greater. To tackle this challenge, Education Minister @demetriosnAB announced four new certification pathways to get qualified professionals into the classroom faster. These new certificates will allow final-year education students, internationally trained teachers, tradespeople, and skilled professionals to begin teaching sooner. By expanding the pool of qualified educators, our government is ensuring Alberta students continue to receive world-class instruction.

Premier Smith has secured a massive win for Alberta's energy sector by signing a deal with South Korea to eliminate a three per cent tariff on our crude exports. Thanks to expanded pipeline access to the West Coast, our crude shipments to the country have already skyrocketed by over 500 per cent in the last year. By removing this costly trade barrier, Alberta's oil exports to South Korea are projected to soar, potentially reaching up to $1 billion annually. Our government is taking decisive action to open new global markets, drive demand for our energy, and secure long-term prosperity for Albertans.

Alberta has been built by people who stand up for what they believe in. From farmers and ranchers to energy workers, teachers and nurses, Alberta is a place where people work toward something greater than themselves. This referendum gives Albertans a direct say in how we build on that legacy, and create a more sovereign Alberta within a united Canada. On October 19, Albertans will vote on nine referendum questions shaped by the Alberta Next Panel after extensive province-wide consultations. These questions focus on two key priorities: ensuring immigration remains sustainable and aligned with Alberta’s capacity, and advancing targeted constitutional changes to strengthen provincial autonomy and push back on federal overreach. Visit AlbertaReferendum2026.ca to find out more how you can shape Alberta's future.

The word cancer changes a life in an instant. No one is ever ready for the decisions that follow. That’s why we’re lowering the breast cancer screening age to 40 and helping cancer patients preserve their chance to have a family by funding fertility treatments through a new oncofertility program. Because every Albertan deserves hope, support, and a future beyond their diagnosis. See news release here: alberta.ca/release.cfm?xI…
