My best friend asked me to keep a secret from her fiancé. I agreed. Then she told me she had kissed her ex at her bachelorette party. "It didn't mean anything," she said. "I was drunk, and I immediately regretted it." She begged me not to tell anyone. "The wedding is in two weeks." I told her she needed to tell him herself. She promised she would. She never did. A week later, her fiancé called me. He said he wanted my help planning a surprise for her. Then he asked me one question. "Has she seemed... different lately?" I knew exactly what he was really asking. I could've lied. I could've told him everything was fine. Instead, I asked if something had happened. He said one of his friends claimed they'd seen her kissing another man. She denied it immediately. "I believe her," he said. "But you're her best friend. If something's wrong, I need to know." I remembered my promise. Then I remembered he was about to marry her. I told him I couldn't answer the question. There was a long silence. Finally, he said, "That tells me everything I needed to know."

@adela_writes It's true. What I've found in my 18 years of marriage is that in anything we do, no matter what, one of us always needs to be the bigger person. Usually that's me. Not always, but usually. Be the bigger person. You'll have a healthy life :)

Many women wait for love before giving respect. Many men wait for respect before giving love. And so the cycle continues. The problem is not who is right. The problem is a pattern that feeds itself. Someone has to choose to go first.

I'm done with being negative. Only positive vibes all the way from now on. Like I used to be :)

This has escaped containment and the QTs are getting one-note so I think it's time to wrap this up, but in conclusion: a) thank you to all the men who shared their perspectives, and b) I won't out them, but some very hot and desirable single TPOT women liked this tweet, so for men reading this who like women and are seeking partnership: While I understand it's not something reflexive for many of you for valid reasons, if you are *seeking* a fulfilling relationship with a woman, you might be well-served by practicing and cultivating a sincere, mutual curiosity about the person that you're pursuing or in relationship with [rather than asking too many rote questions or waiting for time to reveal everything]. It seems that's something a lot of us are craving, and that makes a lot of us feel desired and loved.
