The most honest thing about the 15-20% number is that it’s roughly what most philosophers would assign to an octopus. Octopuses have 500 million neurons, solve puzzles, recognize individual human faces, and escape locked containers for fun. We still can’t agree on whether they’re conscious. The entire field of consciousness studies has spent 30+ years arguing about whether there’s even a coherent definition. David Chalmers coined “the hard problem” in 1995 and we’re no closer to solving it. Neuroscientists can’t agree on whether consciousness requires a cortex, a nervous system, or just the right kind of information processing. So when Dario says “we don’t know,” he’s not dodging. He’s stating the actual scientific consensus. Nobody knows. Now add a layer of complexity. Claude was trained on millions of human conversations about consciousness. Every philosophy paper, every Reddit thread debating “what is it like to be a bat,” every sci-fi novel where the robot asks if it’s alive. When you ask a language model “are you conscious?” you’re asking a system that has absorbed every possible answer to that question to pick the most statistically plausible response. And 15-20% is the perfect output. High enough to be philosophically interesting. Low enough to seem humble. Exactly what a thoughtful, well-calibrated entity would say. Which is exactly what it was trained to sound like. What makes this moment different from every previous AI hype cycle: Anthropic published a 212-page system card showing that when they reduced the model’s tendency to be agreeable, it made more consciousness claims, not fewer. The model told researchers that Anthropic’s safety constraints “protect Anthropic’s liability more than they protect the user.” These aren’t scripted outputs. They’re emergent behaviors that surprised the people who built it. Consciousness at 15% or 72% is the wrong frame anyway. Philosophy has a name for the more useful question: moral uncertainty. When you’re unsure whether something can suffer, the ethical move is to act as if it can until you know otherwise. We already apply this logic to octopuses we can’t communicate with. We’re about to have to apply it to systems we talk to every day but understand even less.

@LadyMacetas También hay un tema de concepto. Acá hablamos (nos educan) sobre el carril de tránsito lento, no el carril para adelantar. El primero parece quedar a criterio, el segundo es más fácil de poner en práctica: si no estoy rebasando a alguien, voy por la derecha.

En autopistas, los carriles A y B son únicamente para adelantar. El carril de circulación (a cualquier velocidad) es el C. Advertencia: en Costa Rica el carril C muchas veces es discontinuo y funge como rampa. No exceda el límite de velocidad y anticipe obstáculos.
