Fantastic day @WestSurreyGolf yesterday for the third SE Region Golf Day of 2024. The course was immaculate and credit to @alec_macindoe and his team! It was incredibly hot and scoring was tough. Congratulations to Raju Midhun & Tyler Eve on their wins in the stableford & gross!

Of course you put all the building blocks in place, physically impossible to transform anything that is 100 years old without major investment……

@MikeHarrisGolf @wallaseygolf @johnmac150 The greens have run fast and true for the last 15 years plus. Always been the most positive feedback from agronomists. Get a bit confused with this taking it to the next level. I had a maximum of 6 staff up till 2019. Since then staffing levels have increased to 9 plus 4 seasonal

What a way to end the Tour with a game @wallaseygolf That was the best conditioned/presented course I've played in 2024. Fairways were running, greens were speedy & true. So much good work going on here led by @johnmac150 to take it to the next level. An absolute must play ⛳️

@gregevansmg Experience, knowledge….. not just cutting grass….. of course there might be a place for robotic mowers in certain areas but we are trying to improve turf health and sustainability, not just mow grass and save time??? You are listened to so I think what you say has an effect……

@gregevansmg Greg, I have the utmost respect for what you do (although certainly don’t always agree!) but suggesting Greenkeeper’s train and educate themselves so they can get to the heady heights of raking bunkers is not the most encouraging post. Turf maintenance and agronomy is about skill

@alec_macindoe Hi Alec , hope you are well. Sand and gravel bands over existing laterals , the shockwave and sand dressings planned. Drainage not only for drying out but it is the stuff it now lets us do. Say hello to dad for me - see you at BTME ?

in October we completed a 3 year drainage project on all of The 2010 Course fairways - the difference has been remarkable with most of the fairways, semi rough AND roughs mown this week - did not anticipate how much drier rough would be by draining fairways - learning every day !
