I averaged 85.5km / week for the last 12 weeks of the marathon —Some stats —- -Cross trainer about 2 times a week average. - 4 x long runs over 40km ( 2 hard, 2 slow) -never ran more than 3 days in a row without a “non running day rest” - highest week 126km ( 5 days of running) -lowest week 27km small niggles - half marathon (gun run 1:03:26)

@alecriddle True. I’m sure some smart ad exec has the answer but guess it’s either that they’re just trying to crudely mash it into your brain or they figure you’re only tuning in for a few minutes.

Credit where it’s due, Ironman hugely upped the ante on both its coverage & fairness of the racing yesterday in Hawaii. Some elements, such as commentary, will never be to everyone’s tastes, but overall, for an 8hr+ broadcast, and from the existing benchmark, it was excellent.
