@wordsandsense We’ll see that people would rather forget about comics than pay for them in their current form. There are many forms of media which are all entertaining, whichever provides the best platforms will win, the format hardly matters imo.

I have to admit it's funny that we're about to get a perfectly crafted social experiment to determine what happens to comic sales when piracy becomes an unavailable option

@Lysfranc00 @draco25912 @7Negative_Creep Yeah, but that still doesn’t mean that it has to be about being transgender or having body dysmorphia. It’s like a black/white person being angry that their skin color dictates who they can or cannot love… it’s really not a concept unique to trans people.

@draco25912 @7Negative_Creep But that’s just taking elements of that story archetype and fitting it into your agenda… this reasoning would work for so many stories. A much more reasonable and simple interpretation is stuff like tests of love, puberty, etc.

@alevanderBatman @7Negative_Creep Most mermaid stories have the characters change a fundamental aspect of their bodies or themselves in order to fit in with the rest of the world, often followed by them being discovered and told they're monstrous or "wrong".

Again, the implied meaning is "most people who would be eligible to refund AFTER having beaten it would do it".

And also pricing games strategically is exactly how you can earn good money while not falling into your weird black and white ideas.

@alevanderBatman @pixelteriyaki You saying that explains the problem. You can't make a subpar product at the same price, you lose money (refunds.) You can't make a amazing product at a same price, you start losing on the cost to make. a sub two hour game is a subpar product compared to its peers.

People underestimate how difficult is is to get 20 minutes of consistent and fun game play out of something you're making let alone an hour. And the "your game needs to be 24 matches of melee" comparison is a silly ass take.

No matter how good the pancake it is, if you pay money for 1 pancake that you could usually get 5 - it lacks substance and you will have an upset customer. Again, I explain substance - Relative to that market. so games compared to other equally priced games, pancakes compared to other pancakes, etc. 5 dollars could get you a wild experience spanning 20 hrs. 1 hr? Not worth, has no substance.

The problem with what you're saying is that you haven't and can't properly describe substance. Because if that pancake is good enough, then it DOES have enough substance.

@pixelteriyaki @alevanderBatman I disagree. Playing it, refunding it would be worse. Then you have a refund with no reason. This review gives you the reason - the game is too short. Game is great, I beat it in 2 hours. Prefect review
