🚨 New Runes docs dropped... 📖 We have read the new Runes documentation, with many asking; “When will the new #BTC token standard drop?” 🗓️Slated for launch between April 18th and 25th, #Bitfinity aims to integrate this new standard into its L2 #EVM network and wallet apps. Runes share similarities to the BRC-20 standard which has already been implemented on BTC, but with certain improvements, improving on the UI/UX with regards to airdrops and minting, and requiring only 1 vs 3 transactions to transfer a token on the BTC network (saving you on fees). For developers, easier and cheaper Airdrop issuance is a key advantage. It could lead to an increase in the number of those holding BTC assets, thereby contributing to the growth of the BTC and Bitcoin L2 ecosystem. But it’s not without its critics, as the controversial Cenotaph feature on Runes may mean that a user submitting a Runes transaction with mistakes or errors could lose all the associated Runes. Though the feature is designed to prevent junk UTXOs, it’s the user who ultimately pays the price. You will be able to access Runes with Bitfinity's new and upcoming wallet.
