My random Bill Nighy encounter story feels less special now he's trending for just this reason, but I was once stood up for a work meeting while he ate lunch at the next table.

@TremensDr @AJPharoah It was so interesting to hear about having to rewrite this week's episode from scratch due to filming restrictions. Was there ever a favourite scene, interaction, or place of yours that got cut because of logistics?

A bit of novel research: pls tell me if you get this reference. Don't identify it, just a yes or no, but say your age if you're comfortable doing that. "If you build it, they will come."

What does warmth sound like? Calling on your words/thoughts for both inspiration and inclusion in a special story I'm writing for UNHCR & @TwitterForGood to support Syrian @refugees this winter. Reply to this tweet with #KnitForRefugees.

Why can’t ticket collectors on #trains stamp your advance ticket as good for any journey when the train is #delayed? They know you’re not lying, they’re on the train. Why wait until you’re trying to find a new connection and make you run across all of Birmingham station?

Love this thread. Would also add - learn at least some basic theory and terminology. A character in the book I'm currently reading is described as humming chords at one point. And one I read last year had someone screaming 'in the coloratura style'. 🙄

If this menu was on #comedinewithme it would be trolled as boring and unimaginative. And this is what the US PRESIDENT serves to ROYALTY.

This feels like lemonade. The fizz is sticky, enticing – a harsh pop to begin then it flows in escape, uncontrollable, my body a mere conduit for the will of the spell – until it mellows, a day-old flatness gathering flies, pooled in reproach. (3/3) #flashfiction #magic #writing

Each spell is different, but all have their own sparkle. Some are sunlight on water, broken but beautiful, blinding but brief. Some are all heat; spice and fire, a scorch that makes new, addictive in the way they build then burn. (1/3) #flashfiction #magic #writing

@SammieEvergreen I remember writing stories on my mum's old word processor (orange writing on a black screen!) so that must have been around 7 or 8. But then at 16 I realised I could add creative writing to the English degree I wanted to do, and that made the idea of 'being a writer' more real!

Happy birthday NHS! Thank you for grommets when I was a child (which until now I thought was "gromits", like my fave cartoon of the time), without which I may be deaf today - unable to sing in my choir, talk on the phone or do a thousand other things I take for granted. #NHS70
