2026 NOAA hurricane forecast just in! NOAA is calling for a below average season due to El Nino which increases vertical wind shear in the Atlantic, reducing storms. NOAA is forecasting a 55% chance of a below average season. @WWLTV

Watch for these big storms on the Northshore this morning. Lightning, hail, strong winds, and downpours impacting some of us in Tangipahoa and Washington Parishes. @WWLTV

Only minor improvements to the drought on the Northshore with all that rain from last week. We're still in a 5.5" deficit (measured at the NOLA Intl. Airport). Rounds of heavy rain are expected this weekend which will help but definitely is a nuisance to our weekend plans! @WWLTV
