@AlexFast8 @WellTimedSmile But why don't they provide the %s for the "all" line? I could obviously compute it on my own, but that's a little annoying. It's very strange for them to provide the %s for the individual pitch lines, but not the total. Is it some legal issue?

@AlexFast8 Do you know where CSW went in statcast player breakdowns? I see it by pitch but not overall, any idea where to find that (without having to do math for everyone)?
English

@WellTimedSmile Raw number is still there but they're going to be adding the % back relatively soon if I understand correctly.
English

@AlexFast8 Do you know how to contact Baseball Savant to request they add game CSW back to the Player Breakdowns? Not having the game total CSW % for each pitcher is super frustrating

Jack Leiter's day appears to be done
6 IP, 2 ER, 5 H, 1 BB, 8 K
He picked up a career high 21 whiffs with just TWO coming off a fastball:
CH: 8
SL: 8
CB: 3
FC: 2

In his 2026 debut, Jack Leiter has set a new career record with 21 whiffs (and counting)

@complain_papi You are not! I just realized I beefed it 😂😂😂was so excited he had both

@AlexFast8 Are armside/gloveside typically defined from the pitcher or catcher's perspective?
English

@PigTownSports @RobertStock6 @_BigSportsGuy77 totally. I think maybe it's just two metrics then. Maybe its 1st Pitch Strike and we keep it and get ahead%. I called it true f-strike originally but w/e it is I think we need it. I think @pitcherlist tracks on his page.
English

@AlexFast8 @RobertStock6 @_BigSportsGuy77 It’s def a grey area . Bc he’s technically throwing a strike or something close enough for a guy to swing at , but obviously hurting the team giving up doubles lol
English

@PigTownSports @RobertStock6 @_BigSportsGuy77 IMO, a P didn't get ahead when they allowed a ball in play. I know I'm being pedantic & I know a ball in play is a strike but if Rogers threw three pitches in 0-0 counts and gave up 3 doubles and I saw he had an 100% 1st pitch strike, it'd feel wrong; that's not getting ahead.
English

@AlexFast8 @RobertStock6 @_BigSportsGuy77 To me a 1st pitch strike is anything that’s called a strike , hit foul , or put in play . I know others may say other wise , but to me that pitch was thrown where a guy put a swing on it or called strike . They got ahead rather than throwing a ball . Guys have to get ahead
English

@RobertStock6 @_BigSportsGuy77 @PigTownSports I hear you. IMO they need clearer definitions and to me, the average fan would likely interpret first pitch strike as how often an 0-1 count is reached so dibs on that one.
English

@AlexFast8 @_BigSportsGuy77 @PigTownSports IMO “First pitch strike” and “reached an 0-1 count” are two separate things. Especially from the POV of a pitcher. You throw a pitch and it’s a ball or a strike. If the batter swings then that means it’s a strike.
Ofc we’re literally talking semantics so it’s up for debate!
English

@RobertStock6 @_BigSportsGuy77 @PigTownSports FWIW this has been my axe to grind for too long. It’s led too many of us astray! pitcherlist.com/going-deep-the…
English

@_BigSportsGuy77 @AlexFast8 @PigTownSports What's the purpose of measuring first pitch strikes? If you can answer that, you can know which "version" of first pitch strike you'd like to use. TBH before today I was unaware it had two contending definitions.
