I’m sorry but it’s not ooc, aang has a flighty personality at the best of times. While I’m sure he loved Boomi and Kaya. Tenzin was the first human he could share airbending with for the first time in over a century. It’s understandable.

well this feels OOC for Aang, and even Katara Aang giving special attention to Tenzin makes sense, but taking him and only him on trips just doesn't feel like something he'd do, and Katara definitely wouldn't allow that

The whole gaang getting dumped on because Sokka wasn’t saying “hey I’m taking my nephew and niece to Ember Island!”? Zuko wasn’t asking “where tf are your other kids???” And it also makes Aang and Katara look horrible for not taking their older kids there just for a fun
