@postmodernadv Something totally overlooked about this era is that it brought stories and settings you don't usually see in games, then or now. Adventure games are still unmatched on unique environments and vibes.

After the “official end” of the adventure game genre in the mainstream with Gabriel Knight 3 in 1999, Europe kept the flame alive until the indie boom we are experiencing today.
I love this era and hope it doesn’t fall into oblivion.
