@AlexeyAdamitsky @danialghods_ true, can't argue with that. Octane is a weird one isn’t it. if it works, its a beautiful, fast engine but I hate the fact they can’t implement their features in a more straightforward way like everyone else does.

@alexrych @danialghods_ My main gripe that I always feelt like a beta tester for the product dealing with and reporting bugs. Octane never feels like a stable product with fully implemented features to me. It's very much usable but you really need to learn its quirks. Karma doesn't give me such grief.

@danialghods_ @AlexeyAdamitsky I find it much less messy in Solaris vs OBJ context tho. quite useable these days I'd argue. the quirks aside.. I mean it still is Octane haha
English

@AlexeyAdamitsky Hah! I am currently trying to use Octane in Solaris and I find it quite snappy. What I dislike about octane is how fussy it is and how many quirks it has with attributes

Lately I did some more MiniDisc renders for a musician that releases on the MD format.
One render I am especially proud of is the Maxell OZ-Black Disc version MD.
I just love the light play in this one!
Though I also love the Sony Color Collection.

There is no art without process. Process is essential to shape one's character, to learn from failures, to do mistakes. There is no linear path or shortcut to any type of success.
AI image generators, eliminate any process. It cannot do mistakes (besides 6 fingers in hands lol). It cannot teach you any craftsmanship or skill. And it cannot teach you any soft skill either. You know the ones that get you very far in life? Like being humble, modest, question authority, collaborate. Cause AI doesn't fail the way humans do. It iterates. And it doesn't even iterate on your ideas: it mashes up someone else's thoughts, giving you a false sense of achievement and ownership.
Ideas matter in a theory-crafted universe, in philosophy, but not in art. Ideas are not enough. One needs to be able to interpret them via a unique scope and personal experiences.
AI self-claiming "artists" reminds me of Linkedin where everyone is a CEO.
AI image generating is not about making art. Is about avoiding making art.
Have a great weekend!

@Farmfield thanks! neither, I think the heightfield is just doing a good job holding its values as they get pushed around. which creates the illusion of traveling sand.
