Regarding the ongoing confusion surrounding moon sightings, studies conducted within the Kingdom itself that show that for about some 30+ years, testimonies of crescent moon sightings were accepted even when the moon was not visible on the horizon at all.

The Old Arabs absolutely loathed listening to grammatical mistakes being made during speech and conversation: Two men came disputing before ‘Umar bin Abd al-Azīz, and they began to make grammatical errors. So the chamberlain said: "قمنا فقد أوذيتما أمير المؤمنين" (We stood up, indeed you [two] were harmed/annoyed Commander of The Faithful.) ‘Umar then said to the chamberlain: “You, by Allāh, are more harmful/annoying than both of them.” ——— What the chamberlain meant was: قوما فقد أذيتما أمير المؤمنين Stand [you two], for you [two] have harmed/annoyed the Commander of the Faithful

@mohammed_hijab Don’t forget the command to distribute 16,000 of those girls amongst the Israelite soldiers who participated in the battle.

Christian and Jewish criticism of the Prophet’s marriage to ʿĀʾisha is self-annihilating: the same moral standard condemns their own scripture, forcing a rejection of their religion to sustain the objection while Islam permits nothing comparable. “But all the young girls who have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.” (Numbers 31:18)

Next time a Somali says: “I’m not Arab, I’m Somali” just show them this thread. Also, as a side note: The term “Somali” first started to appear in the 15th century. There are a few debates out there regarding where this name came from. One tradition as stated by Sharīf ‘Aydrūs is that it originated from a man named Samāl (سمال) early in Islam who came to Muqdishu with the Muslim army for jihad. It’s an uncommon Arab name, but it’s one that Arabs sometimes use for themselves regardless

As for the Arabic language, know that it has been spoken in the land of Somalia for well over 1,500 years, and today it is one of two official languages. For most of their history, Somalis spoke and wrote in Arabic up until about 60 years ago. In an era where the President of Somalia can’t even put two words of Arabic together, it really shows how hard the colonialists and their agents have worked to eradicate this beautiful language from such a beautiful land with an even richer history—and to instill in the minds of the people shu’ūbiyyah and hatred of the Arabs, even though their history, culture, language, blood, and lineages are Arab. But because their skin tint is dark and their location is Africa rather than Arabia, the mentally colonized want to forgo all that has brought them honor through Islam and claim a culture and history from antiquity that they know nothing about.

عروبة بلاد الصومال 🇸🇴 {🧵} To the mentally colonized Somalis who constantly cry about ‘Arabization’, I have news for you: The region that is now modern Somalia 🇸🇴 (as well as other parts of the Horn of Africa) has been inhabited by Arabs long before the advent of Islam, and this presence has continued long afterward and throughout history. The people who inhabit Bilād as-Somāl have always viewed themselves as part of the broader Arab cultural umbrella. In this thread, I will explore the history of Arabs in East Africa (with a specific focus on what is now modern-day Somalia) and how this history has shaped the religious, cultural, linguistic, and genetic identity of Somalia. BEFORE ISLAM: There is substantial evidence to solidify the fact that Arabs inhabited the eastern coasts of Somalia (and other regions) for centuries before the advent of Islam. One key source is East African oral tradition itself. Manuscripts from a book titled ‘Kitāb al-Zunūj’, which were published in the 19th and 20th centuries and discovered in the possession of a Somali qādhī (judge) in Kismāyo in 1923, clearly state that Tubba’ al-Himyarī was the first to establish the settlement now known as Muqdishu, along with several other port towns along the Eastern African coast. This account is further echoed by the Somali scholar Sharīf ‘Aydrūs al-Nadhīrī in his book on the history of Somalia. Despite the objections from some colonized Somalis who dismiss these narratives as mere folklore and legends, additional historical and academic evidence firmly supports the matter. Consider the account from ‘The Periplus of the Erythraean Sea’, a 1st-century Greco-Roman navigational guide, which validates these “myths” as historical truths. It states that the Arab Himyarites controlled the entire Eastern African coast by “ancient right,” implying that this authority was inherited from the Sabaeans before them. Furthermore, it indicates that the Himyarites ruled the region and were familiar with it due to ‘continuous intercourse’ and intermarriage with the local populace.
