Top tier Pokémon cards have delivered roughly 3,200%-3,800% returns over the past two decades compared to about 420%-480% for the S&P 500
Pokémon has basically become its own category in the art market.
Investors are starting to treat Pokémon cards like fine art, chasing limited supply and long term appreciation.
Here’s what makes it stand out:
1. Limited supply: Each set has a short print window, usually one or two runs over 1 to 2 years. After that, it’s gone. Scarcity builds fast, especially when the artwork hits.
2. Pure nostalgia: Pokémon has been part of culture since the 90s. Kids loved it, now those kids are adults with money, and they’re passing it down to their own kids. That cycle doesn’t stop.
3. Endless marketing: Movies, games, shows, merch, and now TikTok. Social media pushed Pokémon back into the spotlight and it’s spreading fast again.
Limited supply, nostalgia, and nonstop exposure have created the perfect storm.
I think Pokémon can continue to outperform the S&P 500, which is why I’m continuing to build up my position
with a goal of making it about 5% of my net worth.
If you’re getting started:
1. Focus on PSA 9 and PSA 10: Those are the highest graded cards and hold value best.
2. Target true scarcity: I like eReader era cards. Lowest print runs and very hard to find in top condition. Vintage supply is only going down.
3. Go to card shows: Great place to find deals. Always negotiate.
4. Track your collection: Apps like Collectr help you monitor value and market trends.
Gotta Catch 'em All!

@bear_in_mind1 @TradingWarz How is picking up a stock at a super cheap price or making gains going to destroy you? If you sold a put for a stock you never wanted, you messed up.

@TradingWarz Bro selling out options is like collecting pennies in front of the freight train. You can make money for a long time but one time is enough to destroy you

@JohnLoc18 Don't listen to doomers. Just follow market structure. Market makers don't care. Business never stops. Otherwise you're going to adopt a bias. It's imperative to stay neutral and objective.

With $40 trillion in debt, a war in the Middle East and rising inflation, the market should've crashed by now. And if it did, your retirement account would drop 30-40% like it did in 2008. But 4 forces built into the system prevent this from happening. Each one explained:🧵

@QuiverQuant To be fair, we all knew about the govt buy. Trump even told us. And this guy sitting on the commitee for AI only makes it more likely that he would make an educated investment in a sector that has an extremely promising future. Not the other way around

@asklivermore People love to be spoon fed but they don't want medicine. Medicine tastes bad but it makes you better.
