I’m not really old or at least I don’t think I am, but this was the board I had in my first classroom and for my first four years of teaching! Others were jealous because I could prepare the next lesson on the back!

@NewHeadteacher I’m ill as is usual at the beginning of the hols. This does help me stop & wind down ‘cos I can’t do much for a few days !

Does anyone else REALLY struggle at the start of the hols? I find it so hard to go from the crazy relentlessness of the last week to just trying to stop and relax. Always feel restless and anxious I should be doing something for the first few days. Want to chill but can’t 😩🙄

@DeputyGrocott We played the me too game with string. We played friendship game where they answered questions to a partner from the other yrgrp on a board game. We made peg labels & a shield with info about ourselves. Also sheets of paper - we wandered round and wrote worries etc

Primary people: how does your transition morning/day/hour look? Quick introductions, story, class expectations…?

Anonymous post: Our Headteacher is becoming Executive Head of two schools and will now only be at our school two days a week. As Deputy Head, I expect my workload will increase. Is it reasonable to ask for a pay rise in light of this change? Thanks in advance for any advice.

@DeputyGrocott We had a ‘finest’ meal deal from Tesco ! Veg & mash was lovely , but pork belly was a bit of a disappointment 😢

I see this is doing the rounds perpetuating a nightmare scenario of what things were supposed to have been like. Must have passed me by in the schools I worked in because everyone largely ignored it or supplemented aspects of this checklist as appropriate.

For school dinns today, in a school today, I went with baked potato and beans. Also on offer was a homemade chocolate cake in celebration of my 'Chocolate Cake' saga. There was a discussion about the jam filling.
