@imgarfie You do not have all the facts. Fan works are very different than when happened here. A complete remake without permission, along with specials & movies is blatant copyright infringement. Student filmmakers know better which is why they often contact her for permission.

@imgarfie The other creator could've written her own story & characters. Not piggybacked off someone's original work without permission. I produced a short film based on a YT series. I wouldn't have conceived of not involving the original writer. Against the law & unethical to boot.

@imgarfie People create a narrative based on their own interpretation of events without all the facts, while ignoring the rights of the copyright owner in the first place. Yet have "opinions" about how she should’ve handled the situation after the fact when she was never given a voice.
