@chilternrailway I know there have been problems today and your trains are busy. I am on a train that left Banbury about 5 mins ago going to London. Can you turn the heat down. It’s sweltering and too crammed to move to take coats off. Please.

Very proud of what we’ve achieved in 2024. I’m in awe of all the incredible museum staff who do often unseen work to make museums better for children, young people and families. Thanks to my small but mighty team too for their dedication and generosity.

That’s a wrap 🎁 As the year draws to a close and our team prepares to take a pause, we’d like to look back at just a few highlights - none of which could have happened without the brilliant, hardworking museum teams we work with 🤝

Hi @limebike this is the corner of a street in Tower Hamlets this morning next to the entrance to a nursery school. How were the parents with buggies supposed to get through?

@RMCunliffe @duncanrobinson It’s true you could but you probably won’t. Middle class families tend to benefit most from free admission. It’s not true for all but fear of ‘getting something wrong’ or feeling out of place stops families from lower socio-economic backgrounds visiting free museums.

@duncanrobinson Very interesting point - plus London is FULL of free museums and art galleries. Somers Town is on the doorstep of the doorstep of the British Museum. If you lived their you could take your kids to see the greatest antiquities in the world every weekend

❤️❤️Lygia Clark @_TheWhitechapel Great introduction to a fascinating artist who created playful interactive works to explore the boundaries and relationships between art and audience. Still felt wrong to play with the animals despite the invitation.

@FionaBowler Would never have watched this if it wasn’t for Reg. I knew nothing about Christmas Island. The documentary was fascinating and horrifying. Shame on 18 successive governments.

Evening all. I’ve got the chance to publicise some of the UK’s quirkiest visitor experiences in the media tomorrow - ideally fairly new or recent. Behind the scenes, roof climbs, niche interests etc. What have been your favourite quirkiest visitor experiences in the UK? 🇬🇧
