@alisonwaller @NATEfeed Really enjoyed your talk, Alison! Catherine Stimpson's notion of the 'paracanon' is such a powerful & important one as an antidote to the 'literary merit' argument. We used it in our 'Studying Fiction' book and I had a great e mail exchange with Catherine about it a few years ago
