When I said I was going to do politics differently, I meant it. Yesterday I spent a couple of hours in Cardiff city centre inviting people to ask me anything about my plans for the UK.

The whole country will be utterly shocked by the awful news about the circumstances of Ann Widdecombe’s death. Today we come together across the political divide and I pay tribute to Ann’s dedication during her many years of public service. My thoughts and deepest condolences are with Ann’s family and friends.

I don’t need any convincing Hitchin is the best town out there. But it was still fantastic to see the community come together for our Town of Culture bid. Even though we were unsuccessful this time, it was a great chance to showcase what makes our town so special 👏
