Last week, my team gave me the most meaningful surprise: seeing my old Welsh teacher after 25 years. When we moved to Wales, we received a Welsh welcome: Mr Thomas’ kind belief, a nation growing economically, a community whose confident identity wrapped around us so warmly. Ahead of the most divisive Senedd elections in our history, the Wales that made me feels less certain. My hope: that we can return that same kindness to the centre of our national story.

Today is International Day of the Midwife. Thank you to all the fantastic midwives working across our country. I also want to highlight that disabled women are 50% more likely to have a stillbirth. I’ll keep working with disabled women to ensure we receive the care we deserve.

Why is it so hard to say that all hate is wrong, whether it’s aimed at Jewish people or Muslims? Too many people are living in fear, hate and bigotry has become too normalised. It is incumbent on us all to do more to oppose antisemitism and anti-Muslim hate.

Only a Labour government can deliver for the environment and nature. Labour is rewilding, reintroducing endangered species and planting new forests, while the Greens have given up on nature and oppose solar farms and Reform wants to bring back fracking. theguardian.com/environment/20…

Ed is (as ever) spot on here. For too long we’ve simply accepted an online world where children are exposed to risks and content we simply wouldn’t tolerate in any other sphere. Glad the Government is starting to asset our agency in putting this rights but plenty more to do!
