The EFCC is set to arraign him in court over allegations of money laundering and financing terrorism in Nigeria. The alleged funds amount to about $2.53 million (roughly ₦2.53 billion), which the EFCC claims were proceeds of illegal activities linked to terrorism. Among the allegations, the EFCC claims that Bello Bodejo received $100,000 (about ₦138 million) in January 2022. It also alleges that he later received $200,000 (about ₦276 million) from a prominent individual in the country. In February 2024, he allegedly received another $980,000 (about ₦1.35 billion), and in March 2024, he allegedly received an additional $500,000 (about ₦690 million).
