@NotASchoolboy @Socceroos Yep. I’m not defending the kid trust me…but there’s been a lot of noise around a young mind. And I’ve also seen first hand his genuine interest. It has been a complex situation.

Furthermore on Volpato, while he’s ultimately rejected Australia previously, he hasn’t been completely dismissive of the @Socceroos. And this has been coming. There was correspondence with Football Aus officials as far back as two years ago where he said he was genuinely keen. But the influences around him have complicated the situation. Ultimately it was his call though, as young as he is, so he has to wear that criticism. Great that’s he’s finally come to his senses.
