Our miracle, Haven Sandra Heilig, born on 12/28/22, at 2:13 pm, weighing 7 lbs 1 oz. Haven means a place or state of safety, Sandra after her beautiful grandmother. Words cannot describe how much healing our Havy has brought to our hearts already.

Missing my mama. Found this video of her holding me. She's missing my kids growing up. She was the best grandma to JJ 💔😭 I still can't comprehend that she's really gone. Sometimes it all feels fake like she's still just in the hospital.

I forgot what it's like to have people love and care for you. It’s just me—nobody checking in on my kids and me. No phone calls, no coming to see us, no daily conversations, just complete silence.

I think one of the most underrated forms of luxury is having enough time to think, read, wander, and romanticize your own life a little.

Sandy's 13 months old but can’t sit, crawl, or walk. She still feels like a tiny baby, even in her size 😭. I really thought after Haven we wouldn't have to deal with developmental delays, but of course, life always humbles me.

What really makes me sad is that when I would bring my mom to the ALS clinic every few months, she would see a speech pathologist, occupational therapist, and physical therapist, and now my girls have to do this weekly with all 3.

It's a constant reminder, like I already learned how precious it is to walk, eat, breathe, and talk from my mom getting those slowly ripped away from her until she passed. Why do my daughters have to struggle with things that come naturally to other children?
