The thing is, if a journalist was told (back in September) by 2 sources that Mandelson had failed the vetting, that information was surely hot gossip within the relevant State Departments of Westminster. Yet we're led to believe that information was unknown to every Minister.

I also think the cynical drip feed of this will save him. If it had come out a few weeks back, in the white heat of the Mandelson story, it might have tipped him over the edge.

My hunch is Starmer has - either directly or indirectly - misled the house, but the international circumstances & lack of any plausible replacement means he'll probably wriggle through this.

That the US is selling oil and gas, including Venezuela, and making billions, and helpling Putin do the same, now sanctions on Russian oil and gas are lifted. Which in turn, is allowing him funding to bolster his war, on #Ukraine.

Iran is breaking international law by preventing our ships going through the Strait. What is the PM going to do about that? Is this another case where he and international law does nothing effective, only being enforced by the PM when he says we are breaking it?

Just watched the clip from @TomSwarbrick1's show. At no point is Powell asked if she owns any sex toys. She just volunteers the information, presumably in the spirit of Labour's renewed interest in transparency.
