For fuck’s sake. Socialism is NOT Communism
Capitalism – Anybody can be rich
Communism – Nobody can be rich
Socialism – Anybody can be rich, but nobody should be poor
The Rabbit Hole@TheRabbitHole
Capitalism creates so there’s more for everyone. Socialism is the weaponization of greed and envy making everyone worse off.

@JamesEisen1891 Reject the literary analysts. Embrace scientific and materialist analysis of patriarchy.

@JonathanCl62034 @alphaahpla4 @EricHovagim Exactly, but he doesn’t really care about that, he’s just stroking his own ego. He quotes Lenin as if the man didn’t write a whole book about how stupid and childish this exact kinda nitpicking behavior is.

@Y0zzarian @JonathanCl62034 @EricHovagim To quote Lenin, "Once capital exists, it dominates the whole of society, and no democratic republic, no franchise can change its nature." If socialism cannot be achived in Cuba given its realities, too bad, but it still isn't socialist.
English

@alphaahpla4 @JonathanCl62034 @EricHovagim They had a socialist revolution. They’re attacked for being socialists. Major parts of their economy are still socialized. They’re socialist. Materially the standards you claim are impossible to achieve on a single island without a socialist bloc of countries. It’s just pedantry.
English

@JonathanCl62034 @EricHovagim Again, I am not attacking Cuba. You could argue that Cuba is doing as well as it possibly can given the circumstances. Nevertheless, the question of whether they are socialist or not, rests on material facts. It has a a state resulting from class antagonisms, a bourgeoisie, etc.
English

@alphaahpla4 @EricHovagim What should Cuba do in your opinion? It’s insane to demand a change in the MoP within a tiny country in isolation. Marxism is not about bourgeois morals but good conduct is nevertheless required from revolutionaries in order for it to succeed
English

@JonathanCl62034 @EricHovagim That is cool and all, but socialism doesn't just mean good vibes (redistribution etc). We must judge materially, not morally. It has a bourgeoisie and a state resulting from class antoginisms. I've never read Marx stating that international solidarity determines the mode of prod.
English

@alphaahpla4 @EricHovagim This is silly, because what do you expect from a tiny sugar island after the USSR’s collapse? They continue to redistribute profits from state enterprises and show an admirable international solidarity. Even today, Cuba sends doctors to counties like Haiti without charge
