Our world premiere recording of Ethel Smyth’s ‘The Song of Love’ will be released in 4 days! It will be posted on @ChChCathedralOx’s YouTube channel at 6pm - set your reminders ⏰🙌

It was no small undertaking for a majority student orchestra and choir to tackle this ambitious project, but we did it! An absolute privilege to be able to record in the beautiful space of @ChChCathedralOx with massive thanks to @joseph_denby for making it happen 🎙️🎥🎼

And that’s a wrap on this project! We had an amazing time on Monday doing the world premiere recording of Smyth’s extraordinary The Song of Love.

Happy Birthday,#EthelSmyth! Born in 1858, she studied at the Leipzig Conservatory, composed a serenade, a mass, a choral symphony, 6 (!) operas, plus numerous keyboard, chamber, and vocal works. Learn more about her music and find helpful resources here: ethelsmyth.org
