@TheJackForge @kevinrwhitley @kvncnls @oliverjumpertz Keep in mind Svelte is a tool you use in dev that spits out VanillaJS, you’re not using the framework on the client to then render out your code. So what you ship to the browser is just your code. No extra frameworks or libs.

What is the worst GUI you ever used?

@oliviablacke Pro life guy was looking for a way to support standing up to the gov’t and his body rights. Told him I was happy to hear that, and pointed him towards arcc-cdac.ca as they have been fighting that fight for years. He wasn’t amused … I was.

Today, a male unironically explained to me that I could never understand how helpless it feels to have the government tell him what he can and cannot do with his own body. Because he was asked to wear a mask.

@CrowderSoup I’ve had success with the pile of everything in the middle of the room. My other trick is to give them focus. Example: for now just focus on getting all your books back in the bookcase. Then we put the toys away … ignore everything other than the focus item.

Parents of Twitter: how TF do you get your kids to clean their rooms? We've tried bribery, punishments, coaching them through it, and no matter what we do we always end up having to just physically do it for them to keep it from becoming a disaster.

@causalinf Dad ran an upholstery shop. Next door was an arcade. He kept all their benches and seats in good shape and I had a jar full of marked quarters I got back each week to use there. I remember being around 10 or 11 and destroying some older teens at Mortal Kombat 1.

What perks did you enjoy as a kid bc of your parents jobs? My parents ran a computing company and they had a huge computer with a very primitive couple of games I’d play. They also has a coke machine on the honor system and I drank those all the time.

Spent the night reading documentation and doing svelte last night. I really enjoy it. Excited to be making some progress with this project. Also looked at a couple packages for svelte routing and picked one out.

@Subhedgehog I’ve been thinking about re-watching as well. I’m getting through The Expanse right now.
