@wifed_first I haven’t done this, but apparently you can set up Alexa or Google home to call emergency services. It might be a little easier for 4 and 5 year olds to do. I’ve been meaning to teach my 5yo how to go to the neighbors for help (while returning the favor with their kids).

@iWomansplainer I don’t know you, but want to say that you are doing all sorts of stuff for your daughter! You are advocating for her to her medical team. When you do get to hold her you are reducing her stress levels. She is lucky to have you regardless of your milk output!

I just feel so helpless in this whole scenario and the one thing I can actually do for her, I can’t even do. ☹️

Asking my body to produce a full supply of milk when I can’t nurse or hold my baby more than once every few days is just not even fair. Pumping is painful and I can’t keep up with the rate she’s now feeding and I will run out of my stash before too long. I’m honestly so defeated.

Is it parental preference? Or just years of weaponized incompetence such that my kids just want me to do everything.

Husband: we’re getting snow! This is so great! Me: are you prepared for no childcare on Tuesday? Have you cleared your schedule? H: I have an all-day meeting. It has to happen. So we’ll just do it virtually.

@KatiePMcGrady My mom always gives up chocolate. My daughter’s birthday usually falls during Lent and I’ve been buying chocolate cupcakes 🤦🏻‍♀️. So then she’s at a party for her granddaughter and doesn’t partake.

There’s a growing trend of criticizing “giving up sweets for Lent” People say it’s too easy & childish. It isn’t enough “to do” I’ve given up sweets for Lent every year since 2nd grade. It is challenging & purifying Don’t knock the simple sacrifice. Jesus can do a lot with it

@clhubes I feel like a lot of the toddler advice is for the 18 month old crowd. Like I tell my 3yo to put on a jacket. If she refuses and I do it anyway she will… just take it off. Yay for those developing fine motor skills.

@chadwifeyeet I usually give the snot sucker or diaper pail. It’s always last on the list, but the parents will use that stuff.

Invite me to your baby shower and I won’t wrap the gift and I definitely will only bring you the things I used the most for my twins

@MapleSweetheart We are all skiing for a few days. My 5yo LOVES it. But by 6 pm she’s all, “I WISH I WAS IN BED!”

My mom hack is to do swim class in the winter when it’s harder to get outside.

All I really wanted was Dinnertime SOS, but no one got it for me, despite writing a list and including a link to it. So I just bought it for myself. 🤷🏻‍♀️

My MIL gave 2 a box of duplos for Christmas. She gave me… a zippered tote to put the duplos in.

If it’s not the refusal of a Covid vaccine, it’s the guns. And when it’s not the guns, it’s apparently unpasteurized freaking milk and I’d like to know just why my brother hates my kids and his own.

Based on the contents of my livingroom, there isn’t a sparkle, rainbow, or unicorn toy left on a single shelf in any store 😂
