About 30 people have been looking for this clown. He escaped his mom on a walk over a month ago. The sightings were often, but nobody could sneak him. I did the bacon trick today after a call. He is now safely back home. Not that he is particularly happy about it. lol

But you MUST be clearer than this when talking to people. Make sure everybody knows that you oppose actual harm to animals. Everyone here means well.

You also don't need to be religious to know that wanting to have sex with animals is a disgusting paraphilia and that those who have said paraphilia don't belong in a normal society.

Even if an animal could "consent," the power dynamics and difference of intelligence make it impossible for it to be valid.

I suppose all the ones that concern themselves with actions are attempting to prevent problems both to the patient and to society as a whole. But I would sooner argue that this is inconsistent than to argue everything needs harm written into diagnostics, especially if we're discussing accidental or incidental harms. That would get crazy. Though, I'm someone who also thinks they should deprecate paraphilic disorders wholly and replace them with a broad self-contempt diagnosis to differentiate between the actual psychology of these things (even when the motivation is the same).

It's not a "normal" reaction; it's a reaction you've been encouraged to have. There are places around the world right now where it's encouraged, a part of cultural norms. We don't have that, because our society has Abrahamic religious heritage, where this stuff is considered a sin. (But only more recently, since the earliest versions made it legal with some animals, but death by stoning if it were the not accepted ones. 🤷)
