Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Fitness attended the closing ceremony of Playing with Corals and the launch of Version 2.0 — an initiative that combines sport and environmental stewardship to inspire the next generation. In his remarks, the Minister highlighted the success of Version 1.0 in engaging youth through football while promoting marine awareness and climate responsibility. He emphasized that, for the Maldives, protecting coral reefs is essential to safeguarding our future, resilience, and way of life. The Minister also noted that Version 2.0 represents greater reach, deeper impact, and stronger integration of sport and environmental education, while commending all partners, councils, trainers, and young participants for their contributions to the initiative’s success.

On this International Nurses Day, we recognize nursing as a cornerstone of sustainable healthcare. Nurses are indispensable, playing vital roles in patient care, recovery, disease prevention, and community wellbeing. As global challenges evolve, their contribution has never been more important. This administration remains committed to addressing the challenges faced by nurses and prioritising their wellbeing by supporting their professional and personal development. We are pleased to announce that the Cricket Coaching Course has officially commenced in Malé City, running from 27th April to 03rd May 2026. A total of 24 participants have successfully enrolled in the course, marking a strong step forward in developing cricket coaching capacity in the Maldives. The course is being conducted by our instructors Imad Ismail and Ibrahim Ali, who bring valuable expertise and experience to support the development of participants. This program aims to enhance coaching knowledge, skills, and overall growth of the sport at both grassroots and national levels.
