There are a few things I genuinely do not like about the Catholic Church, but there are two specific things I love about it: 1. Structure: The same way Catholicism is practiced in Vatican City is the same way it is practiced in Uganda, Ekiti, Abuja, Ebonyi, and so on. Well-organized, no confusion, just one universal doctrine because they share the same beliefs. Unlike Pentecostal churches, where some “sins” are defined differently depending on the church because the General Overseers make the rules. 2. The modesty of the priests: You’ll NEVER see a Catholic priest living a lavish lifestyle. Decent cars, houses, and a good quality of life, yes. But they know where to draw the line. Because tell me, why exactly is a pastor driving a Cybertruck, owning Rolls-Royces, and bragging about having a $2m to $5m watch collection? Some of them even have more than two private jets. Mind you, they own schools that their members cannot afford, and I find that very strange. The least you can do for your community is provide access to the education you created, unless, of course, it’s just business for you. And if that’s the case, own it with your full chest. They sell hope in Pentecostal churches, that your reward is in heaven, while your GOs are living boujee lives here on earth. Before you start with the celebrity comparison, I will not hold Wizkid, Davido, Burna, and Rema to the same standard I hold Oyedepo, Adeboye, Ibiyome, Chris, and the rest. The latter are men of God. Now, I’m not saying they should live in poverty because they are serving God. But when you are serving, there are certain lifestyles that contradict what you claim to be doing. Some of them even dine with the government, which is exactly why they can’t call them out. But when we see through these things and question them, instead of you people using your brains to recognize the flaws, you go into defensive mode. It makes me wonder if being religious stops you from using your reasoning. Anything you cannot question is a cult. Every institution is subject to criticism, whether you like it or not. For people who preach so much about vanity and heavenly rewards, many of your pastors are doing the exact opposite of what they preach, and I find that very disturbing.

@TosinOlugbenga I would rather say we should be strategic with our going, if you are going for Masters; pls do something in the medical field. If you are already okay here, pls do more research before embarking on the relocation plan cos it might not be a good idea.

I don't know what Analogy I'll use to explain the Catholic Church and Church of Mormon vs riches But here let me use paintings The most expensive painting in the world is Salvator Mundi (frame 1) which sold for about $ 450 million dollars. The popular Mona Lisa painting ( frame 2) which is deemed unsellable and priceless has been valued by experts to be worth around $ 1-2 billion even though priceless since it is owned by the French Irrespective of these figures Monalisa will never be cited as the most expensive painting and Salvator Mundi will always be. Salvator Mundi in this analogy is The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Saints and Mona Lisa is the Catholic Church. I hope this analogy helps.

Update: Six months after the anti-corruption revolutionary protest, Nepal has sworn in 35yr-old ex rapper, Balendra Shah as new Prime Minister. Shah picked a 14-member cabinet to cut governance cost (previously 30+). His new youth-led party won 182/275 parliament seat in what is seen as a sweeping victory. During the Gen Z protest, at least 75 persons were killed. In his speech, he said they are no longer afraid of blood, as their eyes have seen it all, as he promises transparency and reduced cost of governance. And progress will be measured by the impact on the common people, not on paper. Shah became well‑known as a rapper, singing about corruption and social issues. He still does music as a hobby, but will focus on politics fully. He even released a track of assurance on the Inauguration Day. India and China congratulated Shah. Follow @TrendingEx for dailies..

Nepal is trending because youths successfully forced their corrupt Prime Minister to resign after 4 terms, and are beating corrupt Ministers on the streets. This is the summary of what’s happening. Since 2015 when Sherma Oli has been PM, Nepotism and corruption skyrocketed. Regular citizens can’t get regular jobs, all the top paying jobs are reserved for under qualified Politician kids or extended family members. Like Nigeria, their politicians embezzle from the national treasury without remorse. Court no longer hold any power because of extreme open bribery. The police, military all institutions are all for sale to the highest “briber”. Infrastructural development have stunted because they loot the funds for power, road etc. Yet, the contracts are only given to political associates, not open to public. So the youths and people have been complaining since 2008. But no success. Until their new gen influencers started using their platforms to call out the government, because they are tired of migrating to get basic jobs. For two weeks they started a “Nepo Kid” campaign, almost like what Salako did. Theirs was highlighting the luxury lifestyle of politician kids and families. Influencers with massive followings, amplified them. Seeing the heavy criticism and complain from the Gen Z’s. On August 28th, the government asked all social media platforms to re-register in the country, set up local offices and to give them access to their platforms, under 7 days. Claiming it is to prevent fraud and stop fake news. — disguised “Hate Speech Bill.” Of course, the platforms failed to comply. The 7 days expired on September 3rd. On September 5th, the Government ordered the Ministry of Communication to shut down all international social media platform including emails, total of 26. The full shutdown finalized over the weekend. In reaction, like Kenya Gen Z’s — Nepal’s Gen Z’s mobilized and hit the streets in thousands on Saturday, Sunday, and number tripled by Monday. The government tagged it a violent protest, imposed a curfew and gave the police license shoot on sight. From Monday evening, the police started shooting live rounds. 20 reportedly died and atleast 400 seriously injured. Instead, more people came out. Seeing this, some of the cabinet members resigned, as the crowd took over the Prime Minister’s house. They distributed themselves to all the politicians houses, set them on fire, siezed the National Assembly complex, demanding the PM’s resignation, dissolution of the entire cabinet and end of of corruption in the country. Today, the PM tendered his resignation. Lifted the ban on social media. Yet the protest continued. According to reports, politicians are fleeing the country in droves. The ones still in the country are being beaten and embarrassed on the streets. Although the PM’s 4 terms have been bitter sweet, because of political differences. His longest term was when he served for 3yrs 5months from Feb 2018 to July 13th, 2021. The other three times, he was removed by the alleged corrupt court twice and resigned once due to party friction. According to reports, Nepal government is now working to appease the youths and appoint an interim government. Yet, the protest is still fully underway. Apparently the youths are asking for one thing. — Strong Anti-Corruption Laws, Systems and Judiciary. Follow @TrendingEx for daily explanations!
