Calling active civil society groups "vigilantes" is incorrect infact it reveals @GovernmentZA failers. The law requires foreigners to invest R5M to run a business. Did she verify? Admitting that shop owners had SA ID obtained through merriage is evidence that @HomeAffairsSA is captured. @hrw is this your representative?

Human Rights Watch’s Nomathamsanqa Masiko-Mpaka says the latest foreign nationals’ verification outcomes should serve as a wake-up call. She says recent cases in KZN show that many of those accused of
being undocumented were, in fact, legally documented.

Dear South Africans
As South Africans, we reject the claims by Cyril Xaba that undocumented foreign nationals were “verified” through a credible process. We do not recognise statements that insult the intelligence of citizens who are demanding transparency and accountability. We reject him and his foreigners.
It now becomes clearer why South Africans are discouraged from independently verifying the identities and legal status of these individuals. A process without public transparency naturally raises suspicion and concern among citizens.
We therefore urge all foreign nationals who are in South Africa illegally to leave the country voluntarily before 30 June 2026 and to respect the sovereignty, laws, and immigration processes of the Republic of South Africa.
We ask Mr. Xaba to leave with the foreigners and go govern in their respective countries since it is alleged he also took money from these people.

KZN Home Affairs manager Cyril Mncwabe says 457 immigrants have been verified, with authorities finding only two problematic cases. One individual has been arrested while another’s application was rejected.
Mncwabe insists documents were confirmed to be authentic.
