@TaiwanSpecial Not surprised! Taiwan is not a child friendly place at all. When kids are crying in public, there are always posts about how their parents should discipline their children’s behavior.
English

Taiwan Life:
Taiwan’s birth rate collapse is astounding. From 7 children per woman to less than one per woman within a normal human lifespan.
Basically grandparents who grew up with multiple siblings might now have zero, or at the most, two grandchildren.
This doesn’t break out only children born to Han Chinese mothers. I wouldn’t be surprised if that birth rate would be even lower, maybe below 0.7 children.

@ShippingManJr I’ve just landed last Friday, and the kids finally were back to school after 2 months. And guess what? We r back to online classes 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ ONLY ONE DAY!!!!!!!
English

@ShippingManJr Know what’s funny, I held term 3 payments until the absolute deadline before I paid and I did pay in full, guess when that deadline was….YESTERDAY! 🤦🏼♂️🤣
English

@asmaalizain Totally get it! I feel the same, too. Also powerless under this situation
English

@TaiwanSpecial Much cheaper than Singapore compared to a similar location

Taiwan Life:
Taipei apartment rental market is mental!
This 175 ping (6,200 sq ft) 3 bedroom, 4 bath apartment goes for USD18,000 a month!
Then add on a USD1,000/month management fee.
And this is not an outlier. There are dozens of NTD400K+ listings in Taipei

@Rus_Khairullin Wait, u mean the internet in Dubai WAS faster before? I’ve lived in Dubai for 2 years, and the internet here is SO slow. I’m from Asia and the 5G in Asia is REAL 5G, so I have been very confused by so called “5G” in Dubai. And even the home internet is slow as well!😒
English

I live in Dubai and decided to switch to Starlink instead of local providers and here's why:
A few years ago the internet in Dubai started working much worse than ever before, I don't know what happened but I was tired of the slow internet. I thought maybe I had a weak tariff. I went to Etisalad and connected the most powerful internet and now it's been 7 months, but my agony has not stopped. First of all, they installed some kind of home phone, why? I didn't ask for it, but I got it with my maximum tariff! Secondly, the Internet often disconnects itself, about 3 times a week, and thirdly, now I can not give up this Internet because I was put on a contract!
I need uninterrupted and the fastest possible internet for my work! That's a base minimum of 2026. Hopefully I won't have any problems with Starlink.
I know some people from the government are subscribed to me, and I would like to point out that this is not a hatred towards the internet in Dubai, this is constructive criticism, this is a full-fledged review! People need to be given freedom, not confined.
I will never use the services of Etisalat (Du) again

@mikepat711 That’s so true! That’s how I found out my neighbor has been parking at the spot next to me which that I own as well after I moved abroad.🤷♀️🤷♀️

I’m currently over 500 miles away from my Tesla Model Y. I just drove by a bunch of Cybertrucks and cool looking modded Model 3’s and it made me wonder how my Tesla is doing, so I checked in.
You can literally be on the other side of the world and you’re still able to check in on your car/control it from your phone. Soon you’ll be able to send it wherever you want from your phone too.

@SukhSidhuDXB Reading ur updates everyday is a routine for me now. I’m still waiting for school opening to return to Dubai
English

Morning update from Dubai
> debris from an interception hit a building in Dubai Marina causing some minor damage
> debris from an interception hit the Oracle building causing some minor damage
> first damage I’ve heard of in Dubai for a while
> wife said she heard some interceptions in the early hours but I slept through it
> up at 6am
> fed the ducks with the kids
> took 8 year old to ballet
> weekend of familymaxxing ahead
Life is good
English

@SukhSidhuDXB Hate to say it (I have strong ties to UAE) but I think that all ends abruptly tonight and forever.
I pray that I am wrong.
English

@skyzer4ever @SukhSidhuDXB Same here. That means it’s still not safe enough for kids to go to school. 😖😩
English

@SukhSidhuDXB Remote learning for kids is what is holding me back from coming back.
English

@SukhSidhuDXB Totally understand how you feel. I was going through the same thing last week. I was mentally drained about the situation and uncertainty, and especially I have a special-need child. We decided to leave for a while. Honestly, it’s still sad for me to watch the news about Dubai.
English

The hardest thing about being in Dubai right now isn't danger of missiles or drones hitting
It's the mental fatigue of genuinely feeling safe, trying to carry on living as normal, but also knowing that things aren't normal, and that one wrong moment and everything could change
Enjoying a few quiet days, then hearing that phone alert noise, seeing news of debris causing damage
If I was living alone in Dubai I think I’d feel completely unbothered
But I'm not, I see and feel my wife’s anxiousness rise at the sound of an interception or a phone alert
Explaining away the situation to the kids so they're unburdened by it
Constantly weighing our options, making decisions and then questioning them
I'm responsible for my family - what if I make the wrong choice?
All of this while just managing life as normal too
I feel completely safe, we've got no interest in leaving, my life is good, we haven't been directly impacted as a family
But it is tiring

Why digital nomads are rushing to Paraguay (and nobody's talking about it) 🇵🇾
While everyone's fighting for Portugal Golden Visas and Dubai residencies
Smart expats are quietly moving to Paraguay
The reason? Paraguay offers what most countries can't:
Residency in 60-90 days, with ZERO physical presence requirements after approval
But here's the part nobody tells you
You can maintain your Paraguay residency while living literally anywhere in the world
No mandatory stay. No annual visit requirements. Nothing
What you get:
✅ Temporary residency for 2 years + permanent after that
✅ Path to citizenship in 3 years
✅ 0% tax on foreign income (territorial taxation)
✅ Access to Mercosur (live/work in Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay)
✅ One of the cheapest residency processes in the world
No minimum income requirement, no local investment, nothing
Just show up and get your residency
The catch? You need to know the exact process... or you'll waste months dealing with bureaucracy
