@handonshipper that’s how i feel too i definitely had a good time watching it but the shift in storytelling was very noticeable

@amberofwest I like some parts of it generally but also it definitely started the shift of the direction of the show

my very unpopular opinion is that this is where the downfall of the show started

@Briguyf3 the characters being in specific groups and not interacting with others for the majority of the season thing pisses me off they tried to emulate got but there the separation was due to the plot and had great character arcs st separated them for the plot plus

@amberofwest Very much so I still hate that the OG Older teen trio storyline gets dropped this season and isn't picked up until season 5. Also started Steve and Dustin being way too attached in storylines (Even though I love them with all my heart).

@Briguyf3 oh i relate to that very much the joy part definitely not top 2 and the things i love about season 3 i love very much but it’s undoubtedly where they started catering to popular opinion and dropped their character driven storytelling

@amberofwest Well... you're right, but it also was the last time I felt joy watching a new season so it's still top 2 for me🙂‍↕️

@_hamhole69 i had fun too but there was a very obvious shift in the storytelling from grounded and gritty to big loud and explosive

@amberofwest This is my favorite season but I lowkey agree, I think introducing the Russian plotline and prioritizing aesthetic over plot was the absolute worst choice they could’ve made

and this season has honeymoon jancy it should be my favourite and yet YET i cannot give it that spot because the writing was inconsistent this is where they started assigning specific groups the start byers family sidelining no real arc for some characters everything started here

@simoneweils plot in season 1 was so out of this world level of excellence for me they captured the spirit of an struggling ostracised dysfunctional family so perfectly that anything they did after that was already ruined for me 😔
