“Probably 50% of you don’t even have a voter’s card and you’re asking me to go and contest election. I have heard you, I will consult widely”. Lmao. GEJ is never decisive about anything.

Jakara–Kwarin Gogau–Zungeru Drainage Corridor: An Ecological Intervention | Babajide Fadoju Beyond road infrastructure, the inspection tour also spotlighted a major ecological intervention along the Jakara–Kwarin Gogau–Zungeru drainage corridor, a project linked to federal support under the Renewed Hope framework. The Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change, Nura Mohammed Hashim, said the 6.7 kilometre drainage system had for decades remained an open waste channel, exposing surrounding communities to environmental hazards including malaria and waterborne diseases. He explained that initial efforts by the state government to cover the drainage were constrained by funding, prompting an appeal for federal assistance. Mr. President approved about N47 billion from ecological funds to enable full completion of this project, Hashim said, describing it as one of the largest environmental interventions in the state. The intervention will bring lasting relief to residents. Unlike the Kafin Chiri Dam irrigation project, which is focused on agriculture and food security, this ecological drainage project is strictly an environmental management initiative designed to control flooding, eliminate open waste channels, and reduce public health risks in urban settlements. Once completed, the drainage system will transform a hazardous environmental threat into a controlled, functional infrastructure asset that protects communities and their property. #TinubuDidIt #RenewedHopeInAction

Originally built around 1978, the Kafin Chiri Dam is being revived under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. About N95 billion has been approved for projects across Kano South Senatorial District, covering dams, rural roads, and agricultural support, with N15 billion allocated to the dam and its irrigation systems. The initiative also includes 6,000 tube wells across 16 local government areas to boost irrigation farming. Residents describe it as a major empowerment effort, noting that such intervention has not been seen for a long time. #RenewedHopeInAction
